GamerMetrics: Top 10 Most Awaited Titles, Assassin's Creed SKUs Compared

According to IGN's GamerMetrics, the current top ten most-anticipated titles are as follows (ranked by percentages of mindshare among IGN's audience):

1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) 5.00%
2. WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2008 (PS3) 3.11%
3. Assassin's Creed (XB360) 2.63%
4. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) 2.54%
5. Mass Effect (XB360) 2.33%
6. WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2008 (XB360) 1.99%
7 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3) 1.91%
8. Assassin's Creed (PS3) 1.86%
9. Rock Band (XB360) 1.70%
10. Mario Kart Wii (Wii) 1.29%
11. Crysis (PC) 1.24%
12. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (Wii) 1.13%

In addition, GamerMetrics analyzed IGN's traffics of Assassin's Creed for different SKUs (see the image below) and forecast that the game will sell 1 million units for Xbox 360 and 350,000 units for PS3 by the end of the year.

Superb find and news. Assassins more anticipated than Mario Galaxy!? Super awesome news. Great games there but Mario Kart Wii really doesn't deserve to be there IMO.

Good one. Hard to believe. I was expecting Uncharted or Haze to be PS3's most anticipated or even GT5 or FFXIII.

Completely agreed. I'm not saying Smackdown is bad but it's just a yearly upgrade and not much different than SvR 2007.
Seriously, games like this (Wrestling), Madden and such should never make such list.

But as you said, the rest of list is pretty solid.

even though there's not a single video or screen shot of the the PS3 version, it has pretty good numbers there

and Smackdown on #2, that's a bit of a surprise for me

But I'm more disapointed that UNcharted isn't on there...blasphemy i say!!

7 - WRONG SHINRO

AC was originally a 360 exclusive, announced at X05 BEFORE E306 for PS3, when it was still running on 360.

So 360 lost that exclusive quite nicely.

And of course, this is IGN, so IGN readers do not represent the majority who are seeing AC + PS3 ads all day long. However given the install base difference, this is significant.

for some straaaange reason, WWE manages to outscore all other games on the IGN site year over year but when has WWE been a number one selling title on any given platform? hmmm...let me see....oh that's right....NEVER
