Yes, The Uncharted Demo Is Region Locked

If you're in the PAL or Asian territories, you may have discovered that your 1.2 GB download of the brand new Uncharted: Drake's Fortune demo won't @!#?@!ing play on your PlayStation 3.

Kotaku contacted Sony Computer Entertainment America who confirmed that the US version "does not allow for cross-region play" and that "the Japanese and PAL demo will both be released soon.

Their demo did come out on time you nitwit! Europe was not supposed to receive it today. The U.S. was and did! It's freakin awesome. Just be patient and wait for it. You guys have alway gotten games later than we have (since the N64 & PS1), you should be used to it by now so get over it.

Yeah, me too KS1985. I find RROD issue much less of an "issue" every day. RROD is NOTHING compared to the way Sony treats it's customers.

Of course, our heartless american friends, ruibing, hazeblaze and b777conehead can't understand it, just like they can't understand how many people die in Middle East every day so they could get their oil and games first. Hey lets make a console that have a store that differs from city to city, but when we promote it we say its region free. But then we send some demos to city A, and three years later to city B. And when we are in deep crisis due to people not buying it we differs the stores more by making demos region locked.

Well you know I said Uncharted is the only exclusive AAA game over 90% average review scores indeed. I said that already a half year ago or so.

Seems that I'll be right here. Ratchet & Clank have dropped under 90% at both Metacritic and Gamerankings.

Kind of funny, many Sony fangirls didn't believe me when I said I've seen and played the games in Leipzig, and it confirmed my expectations on many of those so called 'killer apps' that got just low or good scores, but no killer app great big hits.

SO yeah. This game is nice. But it's not enough to pay 400 or 500 Euro for.

Its nothing to do with being a trend, granted, they should have released to all in each terrority, but as it is, everyone is trying to d/l usa etc. Its clogging up the system.

Dam you should have seen all the servers when bioshock,crysis came on on pc demo wise. Slow as hell and some didn't work at all 100%.

On another note

The "lighting" in this game is ridonculous...

I got used to the aiming a lil bit even though I hate PS3 and shooting games because of the controller.

The jumping in this game is fairly accurate. The water fall/water looked amazing on my set. Except I notice that there was some times when a horizontal line went through the top on my screen, well its very fast , I'm not sure what that is, almost like a cut.

This game is looking good, it won't be a first day buy for me as I have too many game son my plater.

Anyhow back to Eternal Sonata and Folklore.

They did the same thing with GT5: prolouge. I downloaded it, played for about 5 mins turned it off came back to it the next day and all I would get is some car gallery show. I can't play the game anymore so I just deleted it anyway. O'well no biggie I got tired of GT after GT3. But yeah that suck that a game this great has to be put on region lock. I don't mind sharing the wealth with our neighbors.

Things like this have never been dealt with globally... that's the thing. Not any gen, hardly on any format. That's why the outcry is so freakin ridiculous. You guys are acting as if this is something new!

When has EU EVER received a demo the same as NA. NA & EU have always missed out on content released in Japan. This has been the case since the original NES. It's a great game and I understand everyone wanting to play it... but you guys will probably have it next week & the full game will be out over there in a month. In the meantime, there are plenty of other games & demos to enjoy.

even when a good looking game with potential comes out PS3 fans still rather bash the 360. Can't you just comment on the game and just be that?

This is the first Adventure type game on next-gen, there is really not much you can compare it too. maybe some game aspects but there is no other "tomb raider" type games out there, and this is your next-gen tomb raider.

Anyhow sucks for europe tho, I bet you they get it tomorrow...

Games are region free...so demos should be too. Then again, I'm sure the PS store isn't universal for a reason, but STILL, this should have been announced before all of this.

We've known about the demo coming today for at least a week. This should have been stated with the announcement. It's only served to cause a bunch of confusion. Sure, we technically shouldn't be d/ling things from other regions, but they could have at least done their part as well.

Sorry to spam, but I think it's kind of important. Here it is. I hope you guys get this demo tomorrow. It truely is something to see. Just to give you an example of detail. His cloths get wet depending on which part touches the water. It slowly reverts back to dry but you don't see this happening. It's all pretty overwelming to see in a game.SOrry for going off on a tangent.......here is what Sam from Sony had to say.
