This camera is A LOT better than the Xbox Live vision. I have both and all Xbox Live vision does is take a picture and video chat. It also has less effects than the PlayStation Eye, can't record a video, doesn't have a mic (you have to have the 360 headset). The 360 game uses the camera is Rayman Raving Rabbit which is much better on the Wii. PS Eye is just a overall better camera and it is more useful than Xbox Live vision.

I was playing with the effects all weekend, they're really cool. I just wish I could do something else with it since Eye of Judgment was sold out, so I only picked up the PS Eye. I hope Aqua Vita and the other games come to the NA PS Store this week...and I found out by error that I couldn't attach a video message to people on my friend's list, only images, but maybe it'll change on the next update...but I'm still cool with my purchase. A cam, a mic without needing a headset, innovative games..it's perfect

I acutally got mine on friday...but that PS Eye would not work with my system so i exchange it and got the second one and it worked!!

Make sure you compress air your usb ports....

The PS Eye is high quality in the hardware...it is a solid piece of tech...You need good light for good images...it take pictures and video awesome with the eye create software. This simple software is totally awesome! It is so easy to use....Sony keeps added cool stuff to the PS3 every now and then...its getting so good to own a PS3 now.

Yes it's already in America(picked mine up for $39.00 at EB). The effect I like best is stop motion (with skinning), I guess the skining is so your can see a ghost of your subject the existing frame you had taken prior, this help you line up your subject for the next frame. I found also that if a light like from a lamp or whatever is in the shot it looks distorted (just look at other you tube videos), however if you remove the light (i.e.lamp) out of the shot the camera will adjust allowing for a much crisper video.
