1 - they made the right decision
if only 5% of people played multiplayer on ps2, then they might as well focus on the single player
then again, ppl will use multiplayer on ps3 more because the playstation network is better on ps3 than on ps2

1.1 - DLC - Multi-player
They did say in the past they could create a stand alone Multi-player R&C game sold through PSN. It's just won't be connected to the current RCF:TOD game.

1.2 - Leg-End
Maybe because the PS2 hardly had any online enabled games? Let alone, an online interface built for online play. Eg; Xbox Live.

1.3 - I've got to agree with Blood --
Last time I think only 5% of the people played online because the PS2 wasn't really known for it's online functionality but, now with the PS3 which is beefing up it's online presence I think more people would give the online aspects more attention;)

I wouldn't care about it in R&C. They can put all their multiplayer muscle in next Resistance instead.

4 - Devs put too much effort in developing multiplayer game...
while it is not necessary, there are still plenty of good possibilities on single player game...to me it seems that ONLINE is kind of a trend now but later it will get balance again

Yea that wud be something. Hopefully they find a way 2 successfully implement that in future iterations. Der are alot of new gameplay mechanics that may open up, but then agen GS may just hold it against the game for having 2 much variety, haha.

6.1 - Definitely looking forward to Resistance 2
Should be a much better game than the 1st, and the 1st was really good. Insomniac definitely seems to know what they are doing with the PS3 hardware, so I expect this sequel to be nothing short of amazing.

I don't look to Ratchet for multiplayer...though seeing a Lombax teabag another Lombax was one of the more disturbing things I've experienced in online gaming.
I am increasingly wary of the focus on multiplayer, as there's nothing more valuable to me than a really great single player game. The more devs are criticized for leaving out multiplayer the more protective i get of the previous art of single player gaming!
Those above that mentioned Resistance are right; and, as an FPS, I think it's far more suited to the multiplayer genre. Insomniac recognizes that the multiplayer development energy is better spent on Resistance.

Considereing Insomniac jumped from RFOM directly to R&C, and still came up with a game that lived up and in many ways surpassed the hype.
If they had included MP, it probably would've meant a few things:
-Game does not release until next year or
-single player campaing takes a hit and it's not as long due to MP and time constraints.
Im sure if this game's single player mode had been 6-8 hrs long like COD4 or HALO3 in order to accomodate MP, the game would've gotten ripped to shreds by the same people asking for MP.

yeah, and in spite of the fact that Insomniac pretty much has to release a game a year (financially), I think they make decisions that are good for the games.

Multiplayers is Next Gen. I wont buy any $60 game with no multiplayer.
Mutltiplayer adds to the replay value of the game.

that's like me saying special effects make today's movies. I won't watch any movies that do not feature special effects.
after all, who cares about a great storyline and seamless, enjoyable single player experience? I'm a lonely person so i must have some immature 12 year old screaming in my ear to remind me i'm alive.

just because you get off while playing online doesn't mean we all make love to a "game" as you call it.
When i feel like being social, i go outside and hang out with my friends or invite them over.
i don't need a mp game for that.

Me neither, i just like to play with my friends online and for the record i think that single palyer is important, but im a MP kind of guy i enjoy playing online. I guess we are different kind of gamers that's all. All the games that i own have MP, i really enjoyed the single player part of them, but i really bought them for the MP.

Very different it seems like, but to each their own.
I like mp done right as much as anyone, I stay up almost every night playing gears, warhawk or tekken 5. but no mp is not a deal breaker as long as the game has an impact on me. ie, bioshock, Half-life 2, Heavenly Sword, Rachet, etc.
