Wonderwallweb Review Folklore

In the run up to Christmas the Playstation 3 catalogue is now starting to grow and thankfully a lot of the games being released are of high quality, take Folklore for instance, this is a game which has had a quieter release than most, while other games such as Warhawk and Resistance have been taking the Playstation 3 limelight, this game has sneaked out without too much fuss being made over it, however don't be fooled by this because Folklore is probably one of the best and most original games to be released on the console so far.

I lol'd at their release dates. Halo 3 and Killzone 2 for 2007-10-01? wtf... 73 days for Halo wars and Metal Gear Solid 4? How can I take them seriously if they can't get their release dates right?

I am getting a LITTLE tired of this game. I'm on chapter 3 and playing through with both characters is a little lame. The game is fun though

I think Folklore is a crap game, (Nice visuals). Because even though its on freakin Blu-ray, the bloody Characters dont even speak. You have to bloody read the freakin text. Whats the point of Blu-ray SONY?

nothing wrong with reading.. give it a try, if u dont have the patience to read through.. rpg games are not meant for you, u should play FPS instead.

6.2 - That is VERY true

The rpg genre is almost designed for reading. I can see what chetan is saying though, with all that space, maybe the SHOULD have had voice acting.

But going back to what adolfinbush said, the rpg genre is MEANT to be read. Reading and patience is the core of ALL rpgs

So yeah, you both have valid points

I personally am LOVING folklore though

I agree that I wish the text were spoken for no other reason than to hear Ellen's voice. Sex-eeee.

Might as well use the medium you're given. This is a game which would most likely fit on DVD.

I would take text over bad voice acting any day. There's also development time and budget to consider. A game shouldn't suffer because of it's production values. This really is a great game. Let the sony guys have their moment.

@lynx1halo- Halo 3 deserved those review scores. The game is incredibly polished. Every second of the campaign is a blast and the multiplayer levels are brilliant. I play it every night and I don't see myself getting sick of it anytime soon. They could have easily slapped something together like what they did with halo 2, but they didn't. Give credit where credit is due.
