God of War 3, Gears of War 2 in 2008

Another month, another batch of rumors from EGM's Quatermann.

You know, even though Sony hasn't announced God of War 3, it's coming. In fact, it was already sort of announced. Anyway, the folks at SCEA Santa Monica are already hard at work at preparing Kratos' debut on PlayStation 3, which should arrive during the next holiday season, joined by a little something called Gears of War 2, as well.

Epic Games and Microsoft haven't confirmed Gears of War 2 either, but the game's stellar sales (not to mention the cliffhanger ending) is confirmation enough.

Yea I would wanna play both, that is what I ment by that.

I dont have a 360 but I might get one eventually. I just find it hard playing more than 1 game at a time since I play online on GB and stuff. I wont get Live if I get 360 so it makes my choice buying hard.

Then who was working on God of War 2? GoW2 was to good to be done by anyone other than those that did the first game. I (imho) think that it will be 2009 for GOW3 because they want pure perfection from that game. I, presonally, look forward to both games greatly.

GOW 3 and GEoW 2 is not likely to be out in 2008.

But you never know both companies could be working over time to get them out just seems like these two titles would take ages to develope more so with GOD of War sense its the first of its series to be on the new Hardware. Both dev teams have just finished the last games.

Um Epic can crank out Gears of War 2 right now if they wanted to, the engine is done. It's just a matter of making new levels/machinima in unrealed and enemies with zbrush. I highly doubt it's going to take that long, but right now they're focused on UT3.

Skerj - while Epic can just crank out Gears of War 2 right now if they wanted to they respect there developing skills a bit to much to just touch up on a few things. If they are going to make a sequel they are going to take as much time as they feel nessicary to make it a true sequel and not just put out Gears of War 1.2

And what they're going to do when they start work on Gears2 entails what I said previously. The engine is done, they really don't need to do anymore work with that. So all the stuff that they're going to do can be done with UnrealEd right now, trust me I know. I've been an Epic fan since their shareware days making Jazz Jackrabbit and One Must Fall when they were called Epic Megagames.

15 - Skies of Arcadia 2?

I would simply die!

Skies of Arcadia is probably top 10...5...well...maybe 3 games all time! I'm drooling thinking of ship control with a Wii control, as well (I would imagine Sega would keep it with Nintendo, until annouced otherwise.)

I thought it was all just vaporware, rumors about it floating around for so long. Come on Sega, tell me the story of the dark moon that was told of twice in the origional (one discovery in the middle of the Dark Rift, and Ramirez having the "Sword of the Dark Moon!")

Now to somehow find more money to spend on games...sounds like it's well into development already too, not just on the drawing board, so it might be out soon.

I should really try not to get my hopes up until we hear more, though. Not a word has been spoken of a sequal for 4 years...and I don't know if all of two sentances should be believed after so long...but...too late, my hopes are already up!

PS3 owners are used to delayed games. Xbox games tend to come out on schedule with very few exceptions ie Too Human. I am not flaming really its just a general observation. I could be wrong. It would be interesting to see a list of proposed release dates and actual release dates after the games came out. There has got to be a bored fanboy out there who wants to compile this useless list.....Then again why mess up this site with facts when rumours rule this place.

i actually played the original on dreamcast and i will be the first to admit it is one of my all time favorite rpgs alongside FF7. I played that game to death until i completed pretty much everything, i would love to play a sequel even on the wii, although i would want it multiplat so i wouldn't have to buy a wii, but if it comes out for just wii i will buy the game and play it at my friends place just to play it.

Personally, I had Legends for the GC. I still give it a nice playthough every now and then, sticking it into my Wii.

However, I personally put it above FF7 (and FF6 and FF3, both of which I think are better than FF7). Top three:

1. Ocarina of Time
2. StarCraft
3. Skies of Arcadia

I seriously think the game is that good.

As for it being multiplatform, I wouldn't mind in the least (I think everyone should get to enjoy it without spending a lot more money on a second console), bit I hope if Sega does do that, they don't make the Wii controls feel like a cheap addon and are mindful of the Wii controls.

Many multiplatform games aren't doing that, and have terrible controls as a result. Sometimes, when going after a city of discovery, a little difference in control could make a huge difference, so bad controls could kill it. Sega has done pretty well, though, on all of the consoles this gen.

secret of mana 2, or saiken densetsu 3 for ps3 would make me one of the happiest people ever. sadly I have lost a lot of faith after playing the games that were supposed to be sequels in that realm, (legend of mana, heroes of mana, etc). Square needs to just let enix be enix, and get some of the squaresoft magic of the snes days back. I mean crono trigger, secret of mana and ff6 in one generation, bring back the magic.

I guess both... but i prefer God of War...

I've played both, and you have to give it up for both games... The biggest complaint about GeOW is the neon colored blood, but the blood and gore was awesome... who doesn't want to take a chainsaw to an oversized insect?

I am excited for God of War 3! My friends always want to play 1 & 2... I've probably played and watched each one being played at least 5 times!

A new screenshot or artwork from GOW3 before the end of this year would be enough to get me excited all over again... Love this game...

Well Duh there's a Gears 2 and When someone asked about GOW3 in the PS Blog the dev said "I don't know what you are talking about ;)" That could be all speculation but I doubt these two games won't be released.
