LGC 2006: Ubisoft Dev Confirms Assassin's Creed Demo

Developers from Ubisoft Montreal working on Assassin's Creed wouldn't confirm the existence of an Xbox 360 version of the game (they did, however, emphatically deny reports that engineers from Microsoft were embedded at Ubisoft Montreal working on the game's development), but they did confirm that before Assassin's Creed ships in March of 2007, Ubisoft Montreal intends on releasing a demo of the game.

9 - If it does come to the 360

it'll be interesting to see how much technology and texture quality they'll have to downgrade. Sony's trying to assist developers to do this so that devs take full advantage of the PS3, and then worry about the weaker system afterwards. (it's the drawback of making the most powerful console; multiplatform games usually play towards the lowest common denominator and tend to not take advantage of the more powerful system).

I'd say it's definitely coming to the 360, but at what cost isn't certain yet. For all we know they want to bring to the 360 but the system can't handle it, programming's not going all that great, GPU can't do certain things, who knows.

It makes more sense though since they're saying "It's only been announced for PS3." It could mean that they're uncertain whether a 360 version is possible. (game might be too large, especially since it's free-roaming) The DVD drive is holding back a lot of 360 games, so that's the most probable cause. As for Sony striking a deal with them...they'd have to pay a pretty hefty sum, and I don't think they'll do it. Sony's spending hundreds of millions of dollars on 1st party and 2nd party titles, so they might be cost-conscious at the moment.

The 360 is struggling with these games. Just take a look at the review of Saints Row, The environment just disappears man, its struggling, also SP:DA, its being pushed beyond its limits already. not better than the 360. but it is doing stuff that is hanging with the 360.
Like tekken 5, its hanging with DOA4. God of War 2 screen shots are actually better than some of the 360 games. This is a 6 year old console, with inferior technology, still running strong, very strong.
So, just imagine what the PS3 has in store for us, this time around, its even technically more powerfull that the 360. So, its a great time for PS3 fans.

Sure MS has TONS os money, they can throw that around and grab some exclusives, like the soccer games, and others, but that doesnt mean the PS3 will fail, its still going to have sweet exclusives, and the games on the multi consoles, the PS3 will have more content.

Demo runs just fine and in 1080i too. I haven't seen one review of the game yet. But from what I have played I know it will sell many many copies and should get Good reviews. never look at one review. Look at 3 or 4 and you get a better idea of what reviewers think of a game. Ninety Nine Nights is a prime example. Many reviewers have given it a mediocre score but its selling like crazy and gamers on average have given it 8 to 9's. I love the 360 games that are dev's for 1080i. When I play them on my 1080p tv its simply spectacular. Thanks Microsoft. And one week till Saints Row. Yes

Its far from a GTA wanna be. Anyone who has played the demo can attest to that. Its what we all wished GTA was. Gang wars online. TOO much fun. Jin isn't lying. There actually was a review up on Gametrailers.com yesterday for Saint's row. There was some funky-ass glitching, like groups of cars just disappearing right next to you and whatnot. Low-polygon characters, next-gen plastic technology, and more gangsta-crap dialogue than you could throw a ho at.

Everything was compared to and referenced from GTA. "It does ______ like GTA". The reviewer said it's basically a hold-me-over until the real GTA series comes back next year.
