FS: Why No Unreal Tournament Demo For The PS3?

During a press event today at Epic's offices in Cary, North Carolina, Epic VP Mark Rein confirmed that they have no plans to offer a PS3 demo of the game. The reason is that Epic is concentrating on finishing the full PS3 version of the game, which like all PS3 games requires a certification from Sony before going gold. Since demos for the PS3 also require a certification from Sony, Rein told FS that it would take too much time from finishing the full game to also create a demo that would also need Sony's stamp of approval.

i agree with spik, better to focus on ful game than them on both and therefore making the full game possibly crappy. and segasage, lol, at least PSN gets there demos before the full game comes out unlike some games for the 360(at least in the beginningto like dec 06).

Personally I'd rather have the game, it's a done deal purchase for me, but then again, I'm sure there are those that feel otherwise.

Well, thats the funny thing. If its delayed till next year then we might as well get a demo this year since were already waiting. It cant possibly be that hard (or time consuming) to put in a small map from an already made one, can it? I dont know the process but honestly... The point is if were getting it this year, then yes, forget the demo. Work Epic. If not, then whats a little extra for the demo to enjoy this year?

As for me personally, I wasnt expecting one and im fine with it that way. Though thats not to say I wouldnt enjoy one...plus itll pull in some 'fence sitters' and some new players to the joy that is Unreal. A surprising amount of people never heard of it, and most that have that havent played think they wont 'cause FPS's arent there thing (like me till I got my happy thumbs fraggin').

For someone to post in this thread; some derogatory B.S on how PS3 owners are getting shafted because we don't get a UT3 demo via PS network is meaningless.

I could care less about demos, I want games. Speaking of Demos, I am waiting on Silent Hill V with all my might, that is one demo I won't even care to mess with let alone download. I'd rather play the game not knowing anything than let a demo ruin it for me.

I come from a generation where there were no consoles that went online, no memory cards, save states, CD based console gaming systems.
We had less than 10 colors on screen, we didn't get demos, we didn't have XBL.

Take your demo b.s and shove it up your ass. We're gamers, not the media.
