Epic: UT3 could release in December, with extra content

Speaking on the UT forums, Epic' Mark Rein said:

"Yes, there is a chance it will come out in December.

In addition there is some good news as well. A little extra time in development means that now the PS3 version will have all of the same maps as the PC version which wasn't previously expected to be the case."

@mighty_douche:
Midway (the distributor for UT3) made an announcement that the release frame for the PS3 version changed from Q4_07 to Q4_07-Q1_08 = Midway expects a delay till early 08 latest.

Mark then commented on that with the statement that he HOPES to get the PS3 version out still in late December, but only if its done by that date. If its not completely finished it will come out in early 08 cause Epic won't ship nonfinished games.

i originally thought that 'those' maps werent capable on the PS3 so holding off a few weeks is no problem for me. i want the COMPLETE UT3 experience and if that takes a week or 2 more then thats what it takes. NO SHORT CUTS PLEASE EPIC!!

from what I was reading the maps that were taken out were the 64 player maps. Now they're in does this mean we may get 32 v 32 matches?

Gladly take a month delay to ensure the same experience on booth PC and PS3, something sadly the Xbox owners get shafted on, unless they make it a 2 disc game (1 multiplayer disc and 1 campaign disc)

anyway this game it still due LATER NOVEMBER and theres a chance, CHANCE, that it might be december, Oooooh a whole week later. plus it means extra content, content that the XBOX wont even get.

oh and lets not talk about the full MOD support thats exclusive to the ps3, or the keyboard and mouse support, or the dedicated servers....

Looks like the delay is pretty much decided. One month is fine. Welcome even since Haze and CoD4 are still in November. As long as UT3 is this year I dont mind and the extra maps is a bonus although I dont think lack of content is EVER going to be a problem for this game.

I Still wont be surprised if it never comes out on Xbox, or at least gets put way on the back burner. You would think they would be more interested in Gears 2 and forego this one to get that quicker. I keep saying Epic is only a small company.
