Too bad I am not going to get it, firstly because I haven't seen it selling here and secondly I cannot afford to spend that much money for such a short game and almost any game with less than 20hrs of play time and without online, yes games here are FREAKIN expensive... The game costs 1/5 of my salary ;(

EDIT: Here would be Latvia! And I think I can't rent it, at least haven't hear anything about it, but I just remembered that I can trade games with a store for about 1/10 of the original price!

i got the game and i loved it. but gib=ving it more that 8 is jus mad. the people who give it a high score are people who havent got a idea how to review games. i loved the game coz of the visuals and great story. but on the down side it was short, it has no replay value, the combat syste was ok but not greatst gen games like onimusha and devil may cry are way way better on the combat front. but this is quite strange coz its the first game with so many negatives i would recomend for people to play even if its jus rental. this is a must have experience, is it worth £40? maybe

I concur. And simple to explain why. Huge draw distances, sharp textures (the floors are amazing...especially with the 8xAF - how many games have that!?). With beauty HDR lighting, and some 4xMSAA to get rid of jaggies. And with 2000 enemies...how could you ask for more? They've created an amazing engine here, doing more than most games can dream of -

If only they could have dropped to 640p to sharpen up that framerate even moreNot going to be surpassed for a long time.

It doesn’t matter what game the ps3 puts out people will try to pick it apart. Ever since the game came out everyone has tried to down play it but the only thing they could find was it was to short.

Gears of War story could afford to be shorter because gamers have multiplayer to give Gears a high replay value. What does Heavenly Sword do after the 6 hour story........for $60 no less?

what bigpappa said was god of war and gears of war, you're just thinking about Gears, which is understandable given GoW and GeoW are so similar as acronyms(you may even abbreviate Gears as GoW). I spent about 9 hours on God of War and I didnt feel at all cheated by the length. HS took me around an hour longer than it took me to beat GoW and I even enjoyed HS more. I dont usually run strait through, a game, I like to take in the details; but I played GoW at the same pace.

What bigpappa was saying is that god of war never got marked down or trashed because it was short. HS is longer and better (imo) than GoW, and many people would enjoy HS as much as they did God of War if they picked it up.

Its obvious you havent played the game, as your just spouting the "6 hour and its over" stuff, if you were to claim you beat the game in under 7 hours your first time through I would laugh. Then there are glyphs to unlock on each level to get to 100% completion, and then there is hell mode, and 100% on hell mode. which is hardly "nothing" left to do after 1 run through.

so instead of calling people names and assuming something, just make sure you double check the original comment.

god of war was 15hrs and geow had a multiplayer but the PS3 has a BLU-RAY disk i feel they shoulda add alot more but that game is still CRAZY they should make it a movie

My favorite was the fireworks level. I would give it a 10/10 because I actually found no fault. Well...I didn't like the ending but I won't go in to that.

sorry you can't judge a game by a 8 min demo. ITs nothing like Kameo. You should get a ps3 for warhawk, uncharted, and UT3 alone.

wow, uhm what do i say. The PSn has nothing to do with warhawk. WTH, its the company that runs warkhawk, incognido problem not psn.

Also its not like the 360 has lots of long games. lol, take out multiplayer there games are just as short. Oblivion yeah, but guess what thats on the ps3 too and looks slightly better. just wait MGS will be 15- 20 hours long, which comes with metal gear online. So then you can stop that whole arguement. Long games are rpgs, and when those hit the ps3, then people will see the ps3 can do long games. I can see it now uncharted will be much longer than heavenly sword but it still will get 8's because it has no online play, and to keep sony down...

completely agree, I mean ico, mgs1, and GOW were all very short games, under 10hrs, but they are all stellar games. SoTC was also short. yet these are some of my favorite games. I think the ammount of condensed greatness in these games is enough to equal or outweigh experiences I've had with games that are both fun and long (crono trigger, ff tactics, mmorpgs, et al).

if your into martial arts, or art in general dont pass up this gem because of all this "6 hours" bs. if you like the type of game this is then to think you'll play it once and never pick it up again is laughable

cant agree with u. i enjoyed the story of HS more than the one of gow i must say =(. it was so much more "real". i could feel the desperation, sadness and so on of the characters, like only movies and books do it. i think thats worth alot. i have been playing it for about 10 hours now and its just awsome. hell mode really makes u use all the stances and move in the right moment, no button smashing =D. u should give it a second try =D

you do get upgrades.
you get upgraded from the longsword to the heavenly sword.
you unlock combos and various other abilities.
your range stance level goes up throughout the game.
and by the last chapter you should notice a substantial difference in power.
a little box even pops up while your playing telling you that your skills have been improved, or when you unlock a video or artwork.

.....are you sure you were playing HS?

going to have to flat out disagree with your comment on the story, I loved it, and stands head and shoulders over the stories of many AAA games (GeoW, GTA come to mind)

also the loading is done while playing a cutscene, so for most the game I didnt see any loading. If your dieing a lot in a section you will see the loading, which brings me to "the combat is dull". How is it dull if your getting killed as often as you make it seem. Either you were skipping the cutscenes (which might explain why you didnt like the story?) or dieing a lot, to see that much loading. Plus it seems you might need a better feel for the combo system, as you didnt even notice new combo's are unlocked as you advance. I recommend trying the game again unless you've shut your mind already, this time try to pay attention?
