not another game:). I was there from the begining when ps3 had no games. this yr i got pro evo, rockband, uncharted, haze, unreal tournament(maybe), army of two probably assasins creed, GT5 prologue don't care if i have to pay for the full game later i am a GT NUT. I honestly wish these games could get spread out a little. My pockets are gonna get hit hard. All i need is that update 2.0 and home and am set to go.

Yeah I would step over my own mother to get to this game... the series broke my online cherry and from that point I compare every 3rd person shooter to it. Unfortunatly I think this site is B.S after that initial trailer there has been zero info on this game which sadly we all know usually means delay : Mabey we will luck out and that announcement on 10/12 may be about this.

this may be only the online multiplayer part of soccom downloadable only through PSN.The Full version with campaign may come later probably available on Blu-ray and the PSN.

Source:November 2007 issue of PSM (said the multiplayer part would be downloadable through the PSN in november with the rest to follow)

There is no single player campaign in this Socom. It is online only like Warhawk. If you want SP you'll have to wait for zipper to finish Socom 4.

FINALLY SOME INFO ON THIS GAME! The only game I truly bought the PS3 for and I am finally getting some details.

Now I enjoy Resistance and Rainbow Six, but the only game I am playing right now is Socom 2 and Socom Con looks sic.

they're saying that Confrontations is released on November 23rd BECAUSE SOCOM Tactical Strike is released on that date too...

If this can be socom2 but without the lag/glitches in hd i know theres atleast 1 million Socom loyalist who would play this game religiously for the next year. It's not as popular as halo no doubt, but its still my favorite game of all time.

Yep i hear you, I mean PSN right now is pretty much lag free, im sure socom will be the same on PS3, cause all the 1st party games that are online right now are smooth aka warhawk and resistance, and sony would make a killing with the socom PS2 fanbase if they announce that 399 with rumble or without rumble this year.

10 - sounds good sony is doing pretty well with the online space

calling all cars, resistance, Motorstorm, warhawk. rainbow six. pretty good stuff. Socom looks to be great too. i'm definately gonna give it ago. but the last i here Socom confrontation is made by a different developer thats handling socom 4. Zipper is doing socom 4 for ps3 while this other group is doing the multiplayer focus socom. and that wont be shown till next year at e308. we'll see. though already full blown games with ps2 budgets are being done ome the psn. games like high velcity bowling, Go ski, wipeout HD, warhawk, GT5 prologue, Stardusthd, calling all cars, LBP, pain, and Socom, Snakeball HD, i cant wait really thats how online gaming should be just because it's network based doesn't mean we should get 2d games in HD. or not quite hd... 620p.... in any case sonyy is showing that they know how to do online

This game is an interim answer whilst Zipper work on the real Macoy to arrive later on. So don't expect something completely amazing quite yet from the Socom series but be glad you have something to play with till than.

I cant wait for this game. SOCOM is probably one of the greatest PS games... ever!! I loved SOCOM I, SOCOM II, SOCOM III, and SOCOM: CA are awesome. I still play SOCOM II and CA =D. So, for this year I'm planning on buying UTIII, Folklore, SOCOM, Ratchet and Clank, and eventually I'll get to heavenly sword =P

Socom would of been one of the first games that I would of release on the PS3....Do you people even know how many people are just waiting for socom? millions...Socom fans don't play any other game but socom. I have 3 freinds that all they do is play Socom and if Socom would release for the PS3 they would buy a PS3 but until then they wont buy a PS3 because socom is all they play..Come on Sony, give us Socom...If Socom comes out in November, I wouldn't buy any other game because that's all I would play..SOcom is the most addictive online shooter ever. I like the servers and how the rooms are setup, I wish ever online game would have the same features...Rank rooms, user created rooms, I hate the xbox live host crap...

So many reasons, where to begin?
a) We haven't seen this game except a 2 min. clip of "Crossroads". No way Sony releases a game of this magnitude w/ little or no fanfare and advertising. And with promising early reviews of R&C and Uncharted coming in, look for Sony to push these titles along w/ HS & Warhawk instead this holiday season.
b) Edwin1989 apparently speaks Dutch (of which everyone seems to have missed) and said they, the website, bases this release date off of the new PSP game. Wow, so completely logical. Do I need to take this any further?
c) OK...checking both IGN.com and Gamespy.com, Socom:Confrontation isn't even listed as a November game. In fact, even more disappointing, IGN gives Socom:Confrontation a "TBA 2008" date.
d) To confirm the validity of point c, I called both the local EB and Gamestop to preorder said game. Both said they have no pre-order SKU in their databases to prepay.
So there it is. As much as I love Socom, it isn't coming in 2007...at least not on the PS3. Xmas of '07 STILL looks like one hell of a time to love videogames!

On my ps3. This is good news I;ll be playing it tonight after I get my Warhawk and Resistance fix. It is the funnest online game I've played. I like the clan matches and the whole menu and set up is sweet. I was on CA the other night and there were 24,000 logged in. Not bad. My name is Rowdy-Yates I'm with the =R= (Red Cell Clan)full roster.
