Microsoft have today announced an agreement with both Konami and EA Sports that means both Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and FIFA 07 will be exclusive to Xbox 360 (on next-gen platforms at least).

This is seriously strange as the PES and Fifa followings in Europe are absolutely MASSIVE!!
This is certainly a blow for Sony, but then again PS3 is backwards compatible so not to worry in the end as you can always get the PS2 version.

Don't try and act like this isn't a major blow to sony. I was anticipating PES on the PS3 for a while now. hoping to see at least some sort of screenshot. But now i have to buy a 360 (and i will) to get my fix.

Microsoft was VERY smart to get these exclusives. Football games are major in Europe, they are what sells the system. (These games got me my PS2)

6 - Good news for Xbox 360 - Very bad news for PS3

I will get me a PS3 either way because of games like Motorstorm and MGS4, but this is really bad news for PS3 fans , and good news for Xbox 360 fans I guess.

I don't think most Americans realize just how big a sport Football is. American Football is a really small sport compared to Football and many people in Europe buys game consoles for the sole reason to play FIFA Football games or the Pro Evolution Soccer series.
MS must have paid a big load of money for this deal.

i love Fifa (I know most people hate it) but I think its an awesome game and i cant wait to get it on my 360

it specifically said that "Pro Evolution Soccer 6" & Fifa 07 right? sorry to burst all of the xbox fan bubble of joy... but Winning Eleven isnt part of that deal.. n to my knowledge Konami can release the Winning Eleven International series for the PS3.. remember no region lock on PS3??... Konami wouldnt be so stupid to make it unavailable for the PS3.. the latest version of the console that make the title big.. with such big followers.. i think they'll release Winning Eleven International for the PS3.. as for Fifa 07.. tough luck.. but i dont play Fifa :P .. i feel sorry for those who want them on PS3 though..

PS: Winning Eleven series is always the better one.. and it is big here in Asia.. more followers than the PES series..

i know its basically the same game with different iteration... its u that dont know anything on the business side and licensing... there are a lot of fine prints involved.. and if the agreement states that its the PES that is the exclusive.. then it is the PES that will be exclusive.. not WE or WE:I, just the PES.. meaning that the series will be exclusive for the European territory only..

actually Winning Eleven is not the beta game.. it is the Original Version... then it is converted as Pro Evolution Soccer... that is why Winning Eleven will always be 1st on the shelf in Asia.. then it is released in Europe as the Pro Evolution version.. it is actually ALMOST identical.. but the two titles are indeed difference.. so 2 completely different version.. and microsoft totally hyped it up.. so it seems that PS3 wouldnt get it.. the fact of the matter is Xbos never get the WE version.. and yet the PS usually have both.. in this case 1-1 so both are even..

"Both Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer are made by Konami Tokyo. Winning Eleven is the original Japanese version of Pro Evolution Soccer. Every year, the new version of the game is released first as Winning Eleven in Japan, and after a few months a slightly modified version is released worldwide, in two different packages: Pro Evolution Soccer for Europe, and Winning Eleven International for the rest of the world.
