Rumour: Stranglehold PS3 Pushed Back Even Further

According to EBGames (and other retailers), Midway has once again delayed the PS3 edition of their third-person action game Stranglehold, which is already out on both PC and X360 platforms.

So, once again, PS3 users have to wait a little while longer.

The PS3 port of Stranglehold was previously planned to come out this week, but is now hitting stores on Oct. 29.

A delay of Stranglehold is hardly newsworthy anyway. Plus, the PS3 is getting the only version worth getting... Hardboiled in HD, awesome... even worth playing through a mediocre game to continue the story after watching.

2.2 - Games built on Cross-Platform Engines are not considered ports...

But in any case...this game has fallen off the radar for many gamers at this point.

Even Hard Boiled in HD is not worth it. Too much to do, so little time (and money).

The rest of this year and on through spring we'll be busy with far better games.

I'd grab it at a massive discount, but other than that it will have to wait.

4 - possible reason for the delay

Since Stranglehold is a UE3 game maybe the delay has something to do with Epic optimizing the UE3 engine for the PS3.

The demo was fun as hell... It's overpriced given the length of the campaign, but the game is a mindless shooter with some cool effects and is a helluva lot of fun to play. Don't knock it until you try it... It's max payne on steroids.

i downloaded the PSN demo off the us store and its completely sh1t, i was quite looking forward to this until i played it, come the end of a 10 minute demo i was totally bored of it, dreed to think how id feel after 10 hours....

poor graphics...
poor gameplay...
and some of the worst animation going... (like 2 animations for slow-mo, dive or ass slide)

edit @ the dumb sh1t below.... mate just because of its delay isnt the reason for me disliking the game, its nothing to do with fanboy-ism crap, its purely to do with it being PANTS, if this game came out six months before the xbox version id still say it was pants. your obviously the fanboy here so just keep your mouth shut.

These are all totally awesome games...so they were hard to program? Sure...but it can be done on the PS3..it just takes effort...

Halo 3 is not that much better overall than Halo 1 and Halo 2...but the Forge of Halo 3 is awesome....Why come Halo 3 only has 16 player online? They were doing 40 player online in Resistance Fall of man over 10 months ago on the PS3...Warhawk is 32 players...and there were rumored dedicated servers with 64 players with no lag...

UT3 will show what the PS3 can really do this year...

Belive me. Its like a shallow copy of Max payne. Its nice with destructible enviroments but it just feel a little too crazy and some of the "missions" you have to do is pure crap. In "stilt city" you have to shoot "drug labs" (tables) in 3 places and 10-15 tables each time.

The standoff thing is fun though.

Played the demo....I could care less if this title ever launched at all. I know us PS3 fans can use more games, but this one does not help at all. As soon as I cound out that all things in the game had Crisco all over them and you could slide just by bumping into things...oh and the same thug over and over, I deleted.

did you even play the demo? and if so id you enjoy it?

if you did them im happy for you but please try and remember that just because you own X or Y console doesnt mean you have to love and support everything on it, i personally would be surprised it this game gets reviews higher than 7/10.

if i was an XBOX 360 owner there would be even less chance of me being interested in this game, with the hugh halo coming tomorrow i wouldnt be picking up anyother game for a few months.

All the games suck on PS3. I noticed whenever the Sonytards talk games they list a bunch that havent come out yet and omit the ones that eventually did come out and sucked (lair anyone) With the exception of Warhawk PS3 hasnt produced a console seller yet. 360 had Gears within a year and COD2 on launch is still a favourite among many of us. I only own a PS3, but after HOME and all these games and everything else getting delayed and developers holding off on making games for PS3 just to see how it fares, well im starting to considering offing mine on ebay while I can still get enough for a 360 elite ;(. I reallly do believe in what it can do, but since im not writing any good games for it, and apparently no one else wants to either, I may have toswitch camps /sad
