To anyone that is excited about devil may cry 4 you are stupid, plain and simple, just dumb to no end. How many of these games can you play before you guys figure out they are all the same. It's like people are LITERALLY in love with this game and I mean that, in LOVE with this series. The only things that change about this game is the weapons. People say no way there are new characters in every game, yeah well guess what, every new character in every DMC game plays exactly like Dante so what the hell is the point of having them? They get different weapons that functions in the exact same way as Dantes does, you might as well just play with Dante. The combat is stupid beyond belief. Slash shoot and jump, thats its. All those styles are nothing more than asthetics. They have no real function. You don't need trickster to dodge because jumping out of the way of attacks works just fine, gunslinger is pointless because you can shoot your way through the game regardless. The story is so stupid it makes me angry. Why don't they go more into Dantes history or more about Sparda give something solid instead of retelling the same story over and over, demons ares being bad trying to take over the world now lets kill them. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. Now you robots are excited because the new game has Mr. Fantastic with guns, wow big change. Dumb.

might as well just not sell in the USA at all. Don't care that it is on the PS3 just don't give me a damn gimped version. Less content = gimped.

Edit: don't really have time either with Blue Dragon and Bioshock have too much on my plate already and oh yeah Mass Effect waiting on that

Have fun in third place with a POS over hyped PS3 lol, Now this deserves attack. 5X more powerful PS3 will crush the 360 when PS3 launches, PS3 will Crush 360 when it launches in Europe, PS3 will Crush the 360 when it 2007 AAA's come out, PS3 will Crush the 360 when the Price it drops. PS-Fee isn't doing sh*t but getting its ass kicked.

PS3 isn't as powerful fuc I can tell a games Multi platform from the graphics of the game.

I'm buying the 360 version. I'd rather play now than wait until sometime next year. Two more playable characters are nice, however there are enough games coming out in the Spring.

Some decent features. Getting good reviews on the 360. Should be a game to watch out for, assuming that FFXIII doesn't get released in Spring 08. That would suck for Namco Bandai.

that even though the PS3 version will have additional content, it will *STILL be scored lower than the 360 version by ign?

mainly, "because of X Box Live and Achievements?" even if the port is 100% identical in gameplay and graphics, i guarantee it will get marked down 0.5-1.0 points for the PS3 version. lol

Eternal Sonata was one of those games that made me jealous of not owning a 360, and was pushing me to purchase one this year, despite my gaming budget (i really only have enough money to support one console this holiday season, as both are releasing some freaking *KILLER games for the rest of the year), but now that it's coming to the PS3, i get to enjoy it, without having to plunk down an additional $400 or more for a new system (i'd probably go with the 360 Elite because of the HDD space and HDMI).

Microsoft absolutely *NEEDS to start up a 1st party Japanese development studio, so things like this won't happen.

this announcement, i think, will simply keep the Japanese from purchasing a 360.

i mean, can you blame them?

should i spend my meager gaming salary on the console that has Eternal Sonata now, or should i wait a bit, and spend my meager gaming salary on the console that will get Eternal Sonata, Metal Gear Solid 4 *AND TWO Final Fantasy XIII games? not to mention Japanese hits like Yakuza 3 and Monster Hunter 3?

if i were Japanese, i have to say i'd go for the Playstation 3 also.

my comments don't mean that the 360 sucks, so fanboys, put away your pitchforks, i'm just saying that this kind of thing hurts Microsoft more than when it happens to Sony, simply because Sony *HAS US, UK, and Japanese development studios working on quality *EXCLUSIVE titles to offset the loss of exclusives.

"DMC4 is multi-platform? well, we have God of War 3 coming."
"Blue Dragon is exclusive to the 360? well, we have White Knight Story."
"Splinter Cell is 360 exclusive? we have Metal Gear Solid."
"Last Remnant is multi-platform? we have Final Fantasy XIII. *TWO of them."
"Gears of War is 360 exclusive? we have Unreal Tournament 3 on timed exclusive, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune."
"GTAIV is multi-platform? we have Infamous from Sucker Punch, LA Noire is exclusive from Rockstar, not to mention they are working on *ANOTHER big name franchise exclusive to the PS3 also."
"Virtua Fighter 5 is multi-platform? we have Tekken 6 exclusive."
"Halo 3 is a huge phenomenon on the 360? Resistance and Killzone 2 are representing the FPS genre quite well. not to mention Haze."

the point i'm trying to make is that it doesn't matter when 3rd party developers try and share the love by releasing multi-platform games on the 360 as well as the PS3, because Sony's first and second party studios have titles in the pipeline to offset it, not to mention a few deals with 3rd parties for exclusives.

the 360 is selling rather abysmally in Japan. it's *NEVER good when an anticipated, exciting looking 360 exclusive suddenly goes over to the PS3, especially because, despite Microsoft's *BILLIONS, they still haven't invested enough money into 1st party development. they've certainly *BOUGHT a lot of quality studios (like Bungie, Rare, and Lionhead), but they haven't *BUILT any from scratch, on their own, using some of the best programmers and talent they can find, *WORLDWIDE.

if they truly have designs on being number 1 this generation, they need to take Japan more seriously, and devote some of that "phat cash" on establishing some 1st party Japanese studios. some 1st party UK studios wouldn't be a bad idea either. i mean, they certainly can *AFFORD it.

i like the 360, i truly do, but the fight it's putting up in Japan is a little weak, even with a strong TGS showing this year.

the pendulum is swinging in Microsoft's direction this time, in that, when titles were jumping ship from PS3 to the 360, that cast a lot of FUD on Sony, and whenever a PS3 title was announced as "exclusive," most folks shrugged it off like, "yeah, right."

now, with titles like Eternal Sonata/Trusty Bell, and games like Haze and Unreal suddenly becoming PS3 exclusive (timed or otherwise), Microsoft is going to start to feel that "yeah, right," thing, starting with Ninja Gaiden 2. the game is looking, in a word, *KICK@SS, but with Sigma coming to the PS3, and the Sigma team openly exclaiming that they are working on another Playstation 3 title, the Japanese may simply say, "Ninja Gaiden 2 only on X Box 360...yeah, right," kind of like those MGS4 360 rumors that never seem to want to go away, despite the assurances that the title is PS3 exclusive.

"but Microsoft is *PUBLISHING Ninja Gaiden 2." yes, but do they *OWN the *RIGHTS to Ninja Gaiden? no. who's to say that Sony won't pony up the dough to publish Ninja Gaiden 'Omega' on the Playstation 3, with development headed up by the same team that did Sigma? afterall, the Sigma team *CLEARLY knows how to make a sweet PS3 game, set in the Ninja Gaiden world. how hard would it be to take the art assets from Ninja Gaiden 2, and apply their own personal knowledge of the Playstation 3's architecture, and whip out a PS3 version 6 months to a year after the 360 version hits? my guess? it wouldn't be too hard.

Microsoft gets to have their cake and eat it too, NG2 hitting 360 exclusively for 2008, and Sony gets to have their cake and hit it two NG"2" hitting the PS3 in 2009, and Tecmo and Team Ninja *REALLY get to have their cake and eat it too, as the game is going to sell quite wonderfully on *BOTH the 360 and PS3, judging from how well Sigma sold on the PS3 (meaning Playstation 3 owners, *DO, indeed, like to cut some sh*t up with Ryu, and a sequel would most certainly be welcome).

back on topic, i'm excited about Eternal Sonata, when it was on 360, and now, definitely that it's coming to the one system i currently own, the PS3. both camps of fans should be pretty happy, really.

I was really looking forward to getting this game but since the p3 version is gonna be better why even bother. Personally I don't really if namco wants to spread the love with this game just don't give a half @ss game and give me excuses blu ray this cell that... If you really wna tot go there look at mass effect vs. heavenly Sword and lair. ME 50 hours of gameplay great graphics all on ONE disc. HS and Lair 7 10 hours gameplay with great graphic the point I'm trying make make the dam game right the first time or just leave the game on one console
