Official Playstation boards closing down threads regarding Warhawk issues

A UK reader has mailed Maxconsole in to let them know that the Official Playstation forums keep closing threads regarding Warhawk issues. Petitions are not allowed on the official site, and Icognito have left their fanbase in the lurch despite clarification that they are aware of problems some days ago. The respective reader has set up a petition in which he describes the game as being released to the public full of bugs and essentially those who purchased the game are acting as the second layer of beta testers which is unacceptable practice.

2 - Ever think that they are "Working" on it?

Incognitio specifically said that they are currently fixing the problems and are not "hiding them" like some other developers do. Seeing a "warhawk problem" thread obviously doesn't make them work any more faster which is why they stopped them.

What makes this even more disgusting is the mart dressing this up to look like some "oh so serious" developer neglect from the people who have a problem with the game when its nothing of the sort. Its stupid. Its like you're basically looking for a reason to make a negative and overblow it to a completely stupid and un-necessary issue.

Don't come here with all that damn "i dont want warhawk to die" crap.

Was there a public beta for this game? Are these problems the same problems the came out of the beta? I could be wrong but I thought warhawk had a beta. If so, why wouldn't these bugs be caught in the process especially since all PS3s are created equally unlike PCs.

There is a difference between lets say 3000 warhawk beta testers and when the game is released having 45000 people on in one day. The bugs that i have had so far are very minimal compared to the bugs during the beta test where my PS3 froze about 15 times in a matter of two hours. Also, Dylan said that his team is aware of the situation and are in no means "on vacation." They are hard at work fixing the issues.

this just proves on why xbox live has a way better server than PS3. Werent we prophetic about this long time ago before it just happend, that not haveing a well paid server can go down in low maintenence, especially when you have a game that alot of people play. Damm, look at Gears of War, millions play everyday, and till this day i havent noticed any maintinence problems whatsoever, except for people with sucky connections. Which are not that many, since everyone uses a DSL.

lol i can only think of two bugs ranking scores and the network disconnects i havent encountered any others.

The game works flawlessly with 32 people online, i have yet to experience lag once throughout my many hours of play thats one hell of an achievement.

Everything is always focused on the negative though

Warhawk is a lot of fun. I've had a few problems getting on servers and a few network disconnects but this is a new game only about a week old with a decent sized population. Problems will arise.

Sony/Icognito will sort it out. Have patience.

I'm expecting similar problems with Halo 3 at first also.

The Halo 3 beta had no disconnect issues and played quite well. There was some down time at the beginning due to some bug in the Crackdown access. I would expect some issues with the massive rollout for Halo 3 in the first few days, but I'll be playing the campaign.

Give Warhawk a couple weeks to iron out the issues.

rumors on the boards are that NAT issues are whats really making the problem...This is pretty much the first console game that I know of that handles online games by either dedicated servers OR p2p...as far as I know XBL only does p2p...and all of Sony's 1st party games were only master server based (you could host a game, but your PS3's heartbeat was translated at the master server, and everything was technically hosted there)...that could be wrong...but interviews with Incognito were always pointing out that this is the first game to combine both types of a connections on a console environment...

In either case...it crashes far far less than the beta, even after the beta update...and they fixed more issues yesterday morning according to the game bulletin...the beta had something around 3,000 members I heard (never confirmed...but that was the rumored amount of invites)...and when the game went live there were nearly 80,000 players in just 2 days...since then the stats have been turned off to address whatever is screwing them up, so we don't know yet how many more people have bought it since then...there are bound to be issues that amount of launch traffic...I admit this is worse than I hoped, but its getting fixed pretty quickly...

Im not in denial or anything because i too have had some problems with warhawk which i have already commented on but dig deep enough and you shall find Ms marti boy. Thank god its not a hardware problem ah.. Incog/sony can release patches for games and fix servers; pity the same cant be said for hardware

Petition threads have NEVER been allowed on the official boards, since the ps2.

But I'm not even sure why this is news... one guy somewhere has questions he wants Icognito to answer??? So what? I've been playing Warhawk since day one with no problems. Had my stats reset one time, quit the game, started again, and my stats were automatically refreshed.

The game itself is the smoothest online action to be made available on a console... and this news post reeks of a desperate attempt to find something negative to say about a stellar hit title. You fail.

This would be news if Sony / Incognito were not doing anything about the problems.

It also could be considered news if it made the game unplayable.

But considering it doesn't, it does just appear that since this is the PS3's first AAA killer app.

Everyone who hates PS3 is gonna bash it. Kinda sad really as they all say they are "Hardcore Gamers". Yet want other consoles to fail and won't even admit when a decent game does get released for another system.

I want the XBox 360 to succede, I want the Wii to be successful. Because if they are, Sony will be bringing out bigger and better games next year. Without competition, most companies will become just like EA, yearly updates and quality of software will not happen anymore.

I like this game, played the beta and have pre-ordered the blu-ray version. With any luck the issues will be sorted by then, if not I know they will be sorted soon after.

No. I haven't had an issue either. I am not denying they exist. They do. A bud of mine is having some problems. I won't deny it like certain people who believe the RROD is a fairy tale. I know - two dead 360s.

It is an issue and it does exist. But there are thousands of players on there every time I get on. Sony acknowledged the issue - can you name anyone recently that dodged corporate responsibility until the threat of legal action made it necessary? And Sony is working the issue.

This story being brought up AGAIN is what happens when some idiot child has access to the internet, has no friends, and is so blindly obedient to a corporation that they lack the objectivity and balanced, honest views of mature people.

It is pathetic to watch him get on these boards and flail around like some worm on a hook. It's why I put him on ignore. He is the sort of person that has temper tantrums in front of a the TV when something doesn't go his way, yanks off his diaper and hurls it at the screen. These posts of his are a simple extension of his stupid loyalty.

You can't expect much objectivity from people with poor reasoning capabilities as they are naturally going to latch onto something to lead them. It occurs because he (it) has no sense of self.

21 - As A Poster On The US Boards

It has been absolutely retarded on those boards since the release, and now with at least 2 mods farming the boards it has been cleaned up alot. There are main UNOFFICIAL threads that are made for certain issues that people can go in and post on to keep the spam to a minimum and now anyone making new threads are closed and directed to those.

It HAD to be done because you could count at least a dozen "OMG WTF WARHAWK DON'T WORK WTFWTFWTFBBQ" threads on the front page alone that were people who had never been on a board in their life venting over the game. Haven't been to the EU one but i've posted over 200 posts trying to help in the week Warhawk has been out and their are still people coming that don't understand what's going on.

Dylan Jobe(sp) from Incog has made a few threads informing people what they know and where they are at but some people still are not satisfied with that. I know some of these bugs are terrible and they DO effect me as well but I can move on to play or do something else.(Like LAIR) So I can hold out on getting a fix because the game will be epic once everything is sorted out. I still can play the game, only issue for me is no stats but the game is still amazing fun.

The Playstation boards are famous for closing negative threads. More so, than the XBOX.com threads. Sometimes i think this webpage is occupied of people who formed a mass exodous from the Playstation boards.

Flaming aside, these problems will be fixed and we can continue enjoying Warhawk.

It is a great game, since Im tired of GRAW2, Gears of War and Rainbow 6.

Themart can't stand the success of Warhawk. It's getting onto his nerve. He neede to strike, he need to do something to persuade you to stay off warhawk. He is constantly looking, looking for something that can cure his satisfaction. The more he searched, the more torment he felt as he slowly found out more praises about Warhawk. After 2 weeks of hard work, it paid out, he finally found something that soothed his pain. He found this, not much but it was a good start for him.

Get over it. If you want to talk total money lost due to failure rates MS takes away the cake easily. I lost two 360s so far. I lost an Xbox1 because of a crappy Thompson drive. My refurb 360 came and I traded it on a HALO3 edition that arrives in a few days.

And MS never admitted there was an issue with Forza 2 whereas Sony came clean on Warhawk right up front.
