Don't be absurd. Pretending to complain about Lair's controls is nothing more than an excuse for fanboys to trash the game.

Lair doesn't even make sense without the sixaxis controls.

Lair's controls were spot on pre 1.92.
Lair's controls are spot on post 1.92.

ok, considering that even ps3 fans are complaining about the controls there might be some merit. Granted i think the game is good but nothing AAA more like AA. I do definelty think that this game was underrated but the controls have been an issue to many. Perhaps you are just very coordinated?

For quite a bit of people, its not the accuracy of the motion control that we dont like, its the fact that we are FORCED into motion control. When i play games, I do not want to move my hands all about or have to pitch this way or that. I want to sit back on my couch and have a good time.

Nothing different than any other flying game. They dont all force us to use motion controls.

I for one simply refuse to buy this game unless they put out a patch for using standard controls.

i'm not a big fan of the motion controls at all, but after actually trying the game out and not being all upset about there not being an option to play with the sticks, i'm starting to really like it now and its alot of fun.

after reading all the reviews i figured they played through it quickly and were frustrated after a while like i was, THE FIRST DAY. today its whole lot better and now i'm enjoying it more. it just takes a lil time and effort. plus, if we really wanna take gaming to the next generation, we have to be willing to try new control scemes and not rely on the old way of playing (at least for one game, sony better not pull this sh!t again). and being able to play on psp is great just to show off to friends. i had everyone in the barborshop buggin when they saw it.

lol and the d-pad was standard before the sticks... Motion is here to stay folks, get used to it or get worse at video games. In flying games it frees the hands up to do other things. Trying new video games is fun, some people should quite being so closed minded

You are absolutely correct. Sensitivity needs to be able to be changed, it is an absolute must. Especially since they are just starting to impliment it.

this game is horrid. reviewers said so. gamers said so. it looks jaw dropping good most of the time but doesn't play well and proves that graphics alone can not make a game

if the developer were smart, they would have put a classic button/analog stick control as an option similar to what warhawk did. notice how warhawk gets some decent reviews and gamers say it's a ton of fun? imagine if they stuck to just SIXAXIS for everything on that too...

lair is sh*t, sorry fellas... you'll have to wait yet again for a superb title. maybe you should learn that the sony camp and it's exclusive partners hype things out of proportion to create demand and it's lil fanboys like yourself that swear the game is excellent when deep down inside you know it's utter crap

to below: i will experience this game soon enough. i have ps3 owning friends who played it and all told me the same thing, it looks great and sounds great but it is crap. you get lost on what to do, the controls aren't great, and it has a tendency to get a tad repetitive. so when i get my chance i'm sure everything that my friends and i who have agreed since preNES days will agree that this game isn't great.
it's understandable, you sony guys keep looking for that must own game, but it isn't out yet... it's coming in the likes of the red head or old timer snake ;)

It took me about an hour to pick it all up and be comfortable with the controls. I find that actually sitting in a close proximity direct line of where my ps3 was helped drastically, ie, don't sit too far to one side or have obstuctions in the way. I had the best response from the controller when i did this.

if you like the rogue squadron series you would probably enjoy it.

It might be frustrating at first though, but you might like it after.

Then again it is 60 dollars unless you get it used or off a friend(which i did).

So if you are low on money get warhawk.

Give it a rent though

How assinine was the developer by NOT including an option to change from SIXAXIS to regular analog sticks. If SIXAXIS controls were bad i'm sure it'ld be easy to code a different control layout as an option for those who don't like, hate, can't get used to SIXAXIS even if it were done so well. Most games nowadays have the ability to change control layouts. Just because SIXAXIS is there doesn't mean Lair developers had to be the guinea pigs to utilize it (very badly mind you) 100%. It reminds me of all the bad Wii ports that tacked on Wii actions piss poorly (i.e. COD3 for Wii was bad unlike RE4 which does a great job at it)

This game never appealed to me in the first place but I would have happily given it a go for all the visual and audible praise it has gotten but with bad controls, I don't want to be frustrated and miss out on how pretty it looks and sounds.
