Lair's Motion Control Fix from Wired

Want to know just how close we were to getting actual, non-frustrating, analog stick control in Lair? All you have to do is plug any USB control pad that doesn't have Sixaxis motion control capability into the PlayStation 3, and Lair will use the analog sticks. Or, in their case, the D-pad off of this old knockoff Sega Saturn USB pad I had lying around.

im still going to try this out but 1080p doesn't make a game the gameplay does

"LAIR at 1080p makes any x360 game look like a wii game."

thats nice but if it doesn't play well it doesn't really matter does it? Heck maybe even a wii game plays better.

then in that case i would play a good wii game then

i am still going to give this a try I'm just not expecting for gameplay. The controls might be hard and ill get over that, but will i be sick of it after 5 levels? Of course it looks good, but if thats it well no.

hopefully I'm wrong becasue i have been anticipating this game and i enjoyed the rougue squadron series. which in many ways wasnt a AAA series.

ppl complaining you have to hold it steady and stuff..but no one ever complains about craps like Red Steel. u also have to holdit still and ur shoulder get all tire and stuff...

i know the controls arn't bad i really like this game, i guess someones personal frustration with the 6 axis is what cused some low reviews from some sites but all's i can say if anyone gave this game below a 7.0 i'd question their opinion for future game purchases!

I must be the only one on here who doesn't like the controls. I love how the first response to someone not liking the controls though is that you aren't good at them. Oh how I wish that was the truth.

I have a USB pad at home for some PC gaming I used to do that I use for my YDL Super Nintendo emulator. I am trying this as soon as I get home.

7 - Logitech Chillstream

I have a Logitech Chillstream (wired, no six-axis) and it works fine. This tells me there should be no problem patching the game. Personally I've played it for three hours tonight and have no problems with the six-axis. It's a pretty decent game.

It suffered bad targeting system, and it had gameplay interruptions every 5 minutes.

okay if that really works then....Lair could be good? its short yeah but great graphics and a good score should work well.....

not saying in ANY way that changes the review scores, that means I have to go out of my way to really enjoy lair....

ya we just got tonight here The ol lady p reordered it for my bday and gave it to me early! Only 3 lvls in so far great game solid graphics (some clipping for sure about the same as Oblivion) but the dynamic lighting is fantastic (dont understand how anyone can say the game is gloomy) Has for the controls they feel pretty natural already def much easier than trying to fly warhawk on pro w/6ax.
Gonna give this tip a try with my logitech and post back the results since it has the same layout has a ps3 stick it should b cool. Still gonna play 6/x tho having too much fun.

DOESN'T WORK on my logitech sidewinder doubt very much it would work on any controller. (sticks are default camera controls and the dpad stays the same too)

The Games Absolutely Beautiful with it comes to graphics, the games support mor than 3 to 4 thousand troops maybe more. Im playing on 32 Sony LCD HDTV 1080P

the control make the game ugly sometimes make the game unplayable , damn i can't even get to the big mouth statue really hard to control but im getting used to it will take a lot of patient playing this game.

But if your GRaphics lover this game is for you NoDoubt GEARS of WAR is Nowhere to be found when it come Graphics LEVEL the game alone support thousand troops , the water is amazing . ok back to LAIR im on 7 level

IF YOURE GOING TO BUY LAIR MAKE SURE YOU TAKE YOUR TIME BE PATIENT SOMETIMES THE GAME CAN BE PAINFUL ,PLAY THE GAME IN 1080P THE GORGEOUS GRAPHICS CAN HELP YOU CALM YOU DOWN AS YOU GO THROUGH SOME HARD PART.

14.1 - Yeah dude.

Sony's getting more publicity over motion controls than the Wii, and the controller's not even dedicated to that function. I actually turned off motion sensing for Warhawk and just control everything with the analog sticks. I'm sure I would have stuck with it had I been given the option to turn it off for ground vehicles...

15 - i'm enjoying it as is.

i used my PC pad to test it out, and it works really well, unfortunately, there are a lot of gameplay mechanics that require you to yank the controller around. the only real plus, is that the dragon will immediately turn left or right with the analog sticks.

i've gotten used to the motion controls, and they aren't as @sstacular as people have made it out to be. i'm liking the game so far, though it hasn't changed from that 6.5-7 rating i gave it in another post.

probably not worth $60, but a good time nonetheless, and certainly a showpiece game for your PS3 (i showed my mom the visuals on my HDTV, and she was certainly impressed).

worth a rental, at least. i don't regret buying it, however.

Marmite = Lair? i think so.

15.1 - What kind of controller were you using?

I tried my controller and this doesn't work. In fact, as soon as I turn off the PS3 controller it pauses the game and tells me to attach a controller.

I really want to know because I really want to play this with the analogs.

15.2 - just a logitech something or other.

dual analog setup, no rumble, USB connection.

worked perfectly fine. i could even browse the cross-media bar. the only downside, was after i was done testing it out, i had to manually eject the disc to go back to the main menu. ahh, it was like the good old days, when you had to get off the couch every once in a while.

god bless that "Home" button.

17 - It works !!

you have to plug the USB controller on the Playstation menu before u start up the game and it works good. I tried it in the middle of the game and it just told me to attach a controller.
