Retailers Say Eye of Judgment is $60, Camera Included

The upcoming Eye of Judgment, which includes the camera peripheral, is listed for the same price as a regular PS3 retail game: only $60. According to amazon.com, the game will arrive in October. At this price, it seems worthwhile to pick up -- even if you're not interested in the game

I agree, more than worth it if it includes the camera's cost. And maybe it'll turn me onto the card-collecting game genre (hopefully not; I have an addictive personality, and the last thing I need is something like this becoming fun. There's a reason I don't play RTSs anymore...).

I would order it RIGHT now, since amazon sells at preorder price (and even lower) so if they messed up and it was really like 80 or something they cant charge you the rest thanks to their "Pre-Order Price Guarantee!" policy

EDIT: read the see details and you will se that Pre-Order Price Guarantee IS getting your Pre-Order Price Guaranteed, basically what you paid for you preorder is what you are gonna end up paying and if the price goes lower you get the lowest price

IMHO I have never seen Amazon get a preorder incorrect before with price included, if it is there tomorrow be sure that is the real price if no they will be pulling it out by tomorrow

All my wife would play was Calling All Cars and all of her old Resident Evil games. It's been hard to sell her on many of the PS3 games out there yet. She is a hardcore gamer, but only in the horror (RE, SH, FF) genre so she is still waiting for her big games. She has already told me she wants to try this out though.

I read your blog and its great to hear that the game has come so far. Your honestly the first person other than an actual reviewer that has gotten to play it, so I'm obviously jealous.

Maybe this sounds stupid but I thought the demo video of the person holding the card with the character moving around on it was amazing. It was so cool to watch him poke the character and have him actually react! Think of the possibilities!

If you've seen an interview before with some woman(sorry forgot her name), she tells you the game itself knows when you will cheat. It knows what cards you are suppose to have in your hand and not. Whenever you make a new deck, you have to register it in the game. I'm not completely sure how it is for shuffle+draw card though. :(

Edit: eXplotion, I think once you shuffle the deck. It must be scanned with the PlayStationEye somehow - thats my Guess for now. :/

Edit 2:

"The game calculates all stats and figures, indicates when to draw cards, and informs players when they are attempting to perform an illegal move or do not have sufficient mana, all of which is extremely helpful given how many things are being tracked."

"One of my biggest questions about the game is how online support would be handled--after all, what's to stop players from just looking at every card in their decks and hand-picking the cards to draw? Well, before playing online, you must register your deck with the game, and during play it simply instructs you which cards to draw--so while nothing is stopping you looking at all the cards you have, the game knows what you actually have in your hand and keeps you from simply grabbing all the good ones immediately. I imagine it would be something of a tedious process to register a deck, but it's better than the alternative."

Um, you'll only be able to buy cards at a video game store i assume? Are there add-on packs? They can charge basically whatever they want for them. Plus with card games, you buy and buy and buy add-on packs and get the same cards over and over and over... I still might check this out, though.

Before you know it, you get the uber nerds paying $30 a piece for cards on ebay just to play this game with the best cards....

fact is I'm a Parent gamer and I have Children who of course game (probably because I do). I have a Xbox 360 and will have a PS3 and you can bet there will/are games that cater to them from those consoles. My boy already know I am getting a PS3 and they are constantly reminding/begging me to get Ratchet and Clank even though they are Hard-Core Nintendo fans (yes I will unfortunately have all three systems in my house but I usually don't have to bother with to much money invested in the Wii (The rest of the family takes care of those on the Holidays). So I only have the initial hardware cost to worry about.

is how these cards work. Do they have some kind of special materials (reflective) or patterns? The reason for asking...what keeps a group of people from aquiring the best cards and then scanning them to high quality paper? You technically could start a black market(PDFs) for the best cards. With other types of these games you play your opponent face to face so you can see if they are using legit cards or not, but over the internet how can you be sure? Hopefully something is special about the cards to keep a$$bags from cheating.

it's online?

I think that would breathe a whole lot of life into a game like this, as it looks pretty unique.

I also think it would be a good idea for Sony to take an approach to PS Eye games similar to that of Warhawk, and release them as $40 downloadables and as disc-based titles with the Eye included.

Anyway, if it's online, count me in. I can't imagine buying too many booster packs or anything, but I see myself buying a few here and there just for some good fun.

I can assure you when you buy the boosters you won't repeatably keep getting the same cards. There will be expansion packs set 1, 2 ,3 and so on.
The game comes with 30 card starter pack in which you can customize with already 110 cards to your desire. The game also comes with the PSEye, software, stand and mat. Boosters hold 8 random cards and the Sets hold 110 additional cards including monsters and spells. Everyone who buys the game comes with the the same 30-card deck starter pack, but how you customize your deck is up to you when you buy the boosters.
I believe each game will come with it's own booster set so each buyer may have a slighty different deck.

It is indeed online; 2 player versus Online to be exact. Offline it is from 1-2 players. Also, there will be two versions one in-store retail and the other via PSN (PlayStation Network). As far as the price differences go, I don't know.

I saw a MAGIC: Gathering ad in a mag where hundreds of people had different cards in their hand. It was funny/ironic because some of the different people in the picture were actually repeats of each other as they were disguised wearing sunglasses or different pieces of clothing. But oh well hopefully, having three of the same card won't hurt especially if it's one of your favorties.
