It's no secret that most so-called "screenshots" of video games released by game publishers aren't just grabbed out of the game. They're carefully posed, using in-game assets. Now, sometimes these are exactly reflective of what the game looks like. Sometimes they are total lies: Penny Arcade has termed these "bullshots."

i would've never thought that EA could sink as low as hyping up a game in any way. They are such a high integrity gaming company.... i would never imagine in a million years that the purest gaming dev in the world would do something like this. I mean... EA pushes out the greatest of all time football game each and every year. They always go leaps and bounds above anything and everything to ensure they make their game so much better. I mean... just look at what they did this year. they "focused on gameplay" and churned out icons on players feet.

I think this has been going on for a while with EA. When they first showed Army of Two in screenshots, it looked so amazing, a few months later when they showed the same game, it looked like it had gone through a massive downgrade.

Good find. EA is cought red handed. Can they do anything right? They can't photoshop right. They can't port games right. They can simple sports titles play at least close on PS3 and 360. They can make a casual family rythm Wii game bomb (Boogie). Anything I missed?

That's the best.
And am I the only one that finds it odd that I didn't hear anything about player-specific abilities, a.k.a. 'weapons' until 2k dropped APF with player-specific abilities. Granted I wasn't paying Madden much attention, but really?

EA has a wide variety of games under their supervision that are really good franchises (Burnout, Rock Band should kick-arse, Army of Two, BLACK) but why Madden is such an outspoken success EVERY year, is beyond me.

For doing what all food retailers, and fashion mags have done for decades.

Potatoes for ice cream. Frozen blow torched patties. Girls with huge anime eyes, and even bigger breasts with zero cellulite.

Yeah but no other company has really screwed up this bad, at least recently... both in the games and images... What these guys do for a living is this... its not like it's a hobby... it should be perfected by now? i think EA should make a madden and nba etc... every two years or so.... they need to get the product working and the year aint enough for these models... all these bugs in madden and prob NBA shouldnt happen!!!!

18 - Exposed their laziness

Even before the Madden 08 controversy both 360 and PS3 fans were aware of EA Sports laziness. I'm glad they don't own the exclusive rights to making games for the NBA or the NHL.

Despite the PS3 Madden 08 letdown I even heard that 360 owners experienced a lot of problems with their copies. Is it true?
