Although impressed with the alpha shown at E3, I still think there's alot to be done. 6-8 months is not enough.

I'd prefer they get everything just right in the same way the original Halo did - graphics, sound, weapons, vehicles, story, characters, SP & MP, netplay and of course gameplay.

If GG/Sony does it right Killzone would be for the Playstation what Halo is for the xbox. The original Killzone was too rushed and not well designed and implemented. Its mistakes should have been learnt from.

I don't know about everybody but I'm more than willing to wait another year just so that GG/Sony get Killzone absolutely right - so that it deserves a 10/10 rating. Then the critics can STFU once and for all.

HOW TO MAKE THE GREATEST SHOOTER?

1. Understand how games (eg. Halo, MGS, UT, GeoW etc) have been successful
2. Copy, modify, adapt
3. Add something unique.

I really hope GG/Sony are doing this with KZ2. It's all obvious really.

I would agree with you but I dont know what they have wrong right now. The story is cool, and the graphics are amazing. Aside from that we dont know enough to pass judgment. and 6-8 months should be PLENTY of time to finish the game. I hope it comes out sooner.

And the actual quote: "one of the most cinematic and immersive games ever..."

2.1 - I was thinking the same thing...

Behold, the power of selective editing. Simply removing the words "one of" changes the objectivity of the viewpoint dramatically. I also like the apparent fact that neither consoles nor games will continue to evolve, and that this title (or ANY for that matter) will reign supreme for all time as most immersive.

This doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to KZ2. I am. I'll no dobt preorder a copy once they begin, as it may certainly raise the FPS bar and I'll not want to miss one pixel or poly.

But in a matter of years, it, too, will seem so last gen.

It was only doubted beacuse it was in fact CGI but it looks nice now.

The reason it got doubted so much is simple. As many fanboys forget, it wasnt an AMAZING franchise that was incredible day one. It was a crappy unproven game that scored poor reviews, unlike Halo or MGS. This game may well be the game that makes it a "proven" franchise and lets hope so :).

william buy a ps2 and compare the graphics of killzone with halo. and you will see that killzone looks a lot of better than the power ranger game. i am sure you even didnt play the game, so why do you comment. have you played killzone liberation, if not try it, and you will not doubt that kz2 will be an awesome game.

Sony never stated KZ2 ER 06 trailer was real time. It was insinuated by the Media, and bashed on for months on end. Killzone was never stated as a Halo killer, it was however again insinuated by the Media as such. The meta score for Killzone is 7.0, that isn't a bad score at all. It simply means the game was "average" it didn't "suck" to my knowledge.

Because its not my type of game, I am not jumping for joy about this game and will not buy it but I did feel that the BBC's immersive experience description was justified.

Immersion is the one thing that nearly everybody has agreed with on this early build of Killzone and those complaining at the quality of someone's shoe texture or that its 'Black and White' (see below) really cannot understand how important it is or even what it means.

Getting the Combination of setting, style and especially sound right can make you feel like your head is stuck out the car window at 100mph in the rain and the Killzone demo was quite overwhelming in its impressive production for the most part.

The best looking screenshot competitions will always rage on but you can't judge movies or games by screenshots and even if Killzone looked 100% real, there would still be 100's of people to tell you Tetris had better graphics.

This does leave us with the Game of course and that may still suck and ruin the whole thing but then we just find ourselves another game to play and move on.

Hahah that was a funny comment there. Although I must say, Sony fanboys were saying Gears didn't have so much colour, but KZ2 has even less, a lot less. So no complaining now surprisses me a bit.

Furthermore, when did the BBC became a great gamereviewing source? I think KZ2 will be an allright game, but when Gears of War 2 will be released Christmas 2008, it'll be forgotten instantly.

Im not comparing graphics but the gameplay/controls, after lair got people so excited because of how it looks the controls got bad reviews then it got delayed. If Killzones looks really good but its controls and or gameplay sucks it might be delayed as well for quick fixes.

22 - Why is it 'grey'? Heres why...

If you turned off the light source in KZ2....the whole virtual world would be pitch black. No game has ever done that before. it uses no canned light. Thats why in the first scene where they are above the clouds, its all colourful and happy and blue (atmosphere gases reflection of light blah blah year 8 science crap), the reason why its 'grey' is because the sky is well....grey. Its stormy....every noticed when your at home how when its stormy and in the day how everything is darker and 'greyer'....its called realism. You cant have a stormy day full of colour and vibrancy. But you can have a sunny, no cloud day full of vibrancy and colour. Even the plant colour on a stormy is dampened down and darker and greyer. REALISTIC LIGHTING PEOPLE! REAL! Best lighting engine in a game so far, only game where it uses 'real' light. They havent even started doing and poloshing textures.....wow. Im so pumped for dis game gonna be hectic!

color doesnt always make a game look nice, yes HALO has a lot of color in it and it suits that kind of game but at the sametime it takes away that serious feeling that you get in a war game( thats what GG is going for). look at GEARS for the PC it has less color then the one for the 360 but it looks and feels a whole lot better then the 360 version(now i wish i held out for the PC GEARS). look KILLZONE2 is going to be the best looking game on any console and its going to play really well, it might not have anything new to offer in the gameplay but its still going to play really well(HALO3 has nothing new and look at that game).
