PS3 sales fall 40% this week in Japan

According to the latest sales chart, after the sales spurt caused by the release of Everybody's Golf 5, PS3 sales have fallen 40% this week, back to a more regular level in Japan....

because I went to a best buy 2 days ago and there was about 12 PS3s in a steel cage, abd beside them, in the same cage, were three xbox360 elites. By the way, I am commenting from a computer on a Carnival Cruise Ship. Going to Key WEst then Mexico. Left port at 4 o clock. First time ever for me being on a cruise ship. Been in Miami since Sunday.

5.1 - Halo 3 is going to make a billion dollars...

and then comes other games like two worlds, bioshock, mass effect, motogp 07, ace combat, stranglehold, army of two, kane and lynch, guitar hero III, rock band, a better Madden 08, Live 08, Tiger Woods 08, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Two Worlds............and the funny thing is that I'm missing alot more upcoming titles....so with MORE AAA titles coming out for the Xbox, a lower price, and an overall more enjoyable gaming experience, should I care about low scoring games like lair, as well as games like Heavenly Sword which give you in game instructions on which buttons to press all through the game? I didnt think so.

Now that's hardly surprising for Japan now is it.

Let's wait until we get sales figures in from the other territories, Japan is hardly a fair comparison. My guess is that the PS3 will still have a slight edge, but not nearly as much as in previous weeks.

Please, PS3 JUST started passing 360 in sales a couple weeks ago (thanks to price drop) and the 360 has been out a year longer than the PS3.....Wait until the 360 price drop fully takes effect and the games start coming. Microsoft never really expected to do well in Japan but at least their trying to win over more and more of the Japanese crowd. And BTW PS3 is still millions of consoles behind the 360....

actually up 100% then down 40% isn't a net gain of 60%... see look at it like this: say you have 1 and 1 is = to your original 100% so going up 100% would = 2. correct? yes, ok now go down 40% of 2 and what do you get? yes, thats right you get 1.2 and yes, that would make an overall gain of 20% hmm funny that huh... yes we can all play numbers games but some of us are idiots and don't know simple math. shame.

that aside you are right to an extent they are still slightly up... however it might still just be some stragglers buying that silly golf game.
