Lair - New screens; Pushed Back to October

Three new Lair screens were released at the Playstation event in Tokyo yesterday. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe also announced that Lair, which had an initial release date of September 26 of this year has been pushed back.

1 - Waitstation 3?

Man how long does it take devs without boat loads of cash to make a decent PS3 game? 10 years? Killzone for example has a budget of over 20 million and it isn't even done yet. Gears of War only cost 10 million, I guess that is why third parties like the 360.

Hahaha waitstation 3 havnt heard that before. As far as i am concerned Lair comes out on august 14th. If you are in the UK and you want it earlier you can always ship it in. I remember mass effect having a release date of like august or something like that guess what its now in november. games inevitably miss release dates. It happens all the time all this +ve sony news is really getting to you xbox fanboys

Funny guy.. so how long did it take the 360 to get just ONE exclusive title that ranked above a 9 after the 360 launched in Nov. 05??

Oh thats right, the 360 didn't have a decent exclusive until A FULL FREAKING YEAR after launch when Gears came out in Nov. 06. By the time the ps3 reaches a year it'll have lair, warhawk, uncharted, folklore, ratchet, and unreal and haze on timed exclusive. Slow start, but not a bad first year at all, especially compared to 360's first year. Funny how waiting wasn't a big deal for the 360 but its all you talk about with the ps3.

Not necessarily. If you delay the game, especially into the fall season we have coming up, other games will arrive and people may have to choose between one or the other (this fall, people have many games to choose from).

now that i think about it october makes sense. Lair is supposed to be the first ps3 game to fully utilize home so maybe they pushed it back for home. I have been looking forward to this game forever. drowning it in the onslaught of ps3 titles hitting this fall would be a mistake. Release it now after we just got finished with ninja gaiden

Lair was delayed a week or two for US...From end of July to August. The same delay has now been announced for Europe...from the end of September, to October. Some people don't think here :)

I'm really looking forward to LAIR.

It kinda sucks that it keeps getting delayed, but much rather it gets delayed so they can iron out eventual flaws and make it as good as possible before they release it.

It would really suck if they released a half-assed product.

and this is not just a shot at Sony, but at all the game makers. Why when they do a release for a game do the typically delay the Europe release almost always? Is it region coding? I mean I would pretty much guess all the language issues in game would be done well before any ship date...

I just find it odd that europe always seems to be behind and/or first to slip.

sony fans will pick it up anyway when it drops.sony is gunning for million sellers of ALL their ips.

good games take time.marketing needs to be ready.the good thing is that sony can release their EXCLUSIVE titles worldwide and not worry about localization.they cover most languages and don't have region lockouts.

one disc.one release wordwide will become the norm on ps3.
