Playstation 3 version Stuntman: Ignition delayed till October

Again some bad news today for PlayStation 3 owners. THQ today released its new release list for their upcoming games, which includes Stuntman: Ignition. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 versions are due out in August 2007 but the PlayStation 3 version has been delayed to October 2007, which is another two months after the initial release.

This follows news of the PlayStation 3 versions of Colin Mcrae: DiRT, The Darkness (Only in Europe delayed), Medal of Honor: Airborne and now Stuntman: Ignition being delayed. This can't be good news for Sony if nearly from every multiplatform game the PlayStation 3 version is released later than other platforms.

one good thing about the delays is that now the developer may feel the need to add something free to the game to re spark the interest considering that the game is a few months old now.

well i frankly do not care. Had no interest in buying any of these games anyway. The period from august to christmas there will be far too many games to spend my money on to care about MOH or stuntman ignition. Cross my fingers that none of the games on my list get delayed though:(

As long as they don't delay the good games (multi-platform)

Normally companies would delay on all platforms because the delayed platforms don't sell that well. But right now they want to get the half decent games out fast, because they know they will be crushed with the fall lineup on both consoles.

Stuntman: Ignition in August = Okay sales while people are waiting for the good games.
Stuntman: Ignition in October = No sales at all.

Well... with these delays for PS3 games, it makes me want to wait before I purchase games for either system. I might buy a game on 360 and 2 months later it comes out on PS3 and is somewhat better...or not.

Stuntman: Ignition, lmao. Won't be a big seller, thats why sony isnt bothered wether it slips or not, theres a few titles like that.

And has been reported here, Fatal Inertia is not cancelled.

Sony has Now decided, that the Unreal Engine is being used alot, for diff types of games, and therefore is going to help optimize.

You do realise, upto the newer game releases, and i mean NGS.

Only 20% of cell's spu's was actually being used.

Motorstorm,Cod3,Fear and many many more,lol.

Cell Takes Time, but once you have it down:) It kicks a$$.

Damm xbots give me my Bubbles back.

In Other news, NGS 2 Will be coming to PS3. 1080p 60fps.:)

You PS3 just don't get it. Yes, these games are not system sellers but you fail to see a dangers trend. It is this game today, another tomorrow and eventually develops will get frustrated and abandon the PS3 altogether!

...Its already been delayed all it was going to be delayed. ;-)
(Originally it was a Fall 06 game, and then it slipped to spring.)

Here's a thought: games that ship in august have to go Gold (manufacturing) *now* and games that ship in oct can wait til sept. Maybe the publisher is waiting to see what E3 brings? 8-|
The danger to PS3 here is that some of the publishers might be delaying not because the game isn't ready, but hoping for a price cut/larger installed base. Some of those delayed releases could turn into cancellations if the price cut doesn't materialize...

Delays like this hurt Sony even if its not so much. I mean im not at all excited for Fatal Inertia or This game but u have to draw the line somewhere. Sony needs to do more to help the 3rd party devs or this trend will never slow down or much less stop. Agen though i dunno whos seeing any of these 3rd party delayed games as AAA titles but agen it hurts the ps3's software library. END the Console Wars!!!!! (lol Ahhh one could dream)

In the end this is hurting sony...Developers will get sick and tired of spending millions making a game and not makiing any profit back on the PS3 version. Its not about just any game, its about almost every game. And I think sony fans are getting sick and tired of this. Hey I would to if this was happening with the 360.

22 - I hate that the dev's keep doing this.....

but as time goes on, the delay's will stop because they will start make the code for games on the PS3 first and then porting them to the X360. It may not happen until prolly after the holidays and the PS3s' systems sellers start coming out and moving units like they should (I.E. Hevenly Sword, MSG 4, FF13, GT5) but I do believe that it will happen.

Sega stepped on alot of Devs. toes and SONY's starting to do the same they better wake up real soon and I don't think Dev's will start coding first for PS3 on muiti-platforms until SONY has sold as many PS3's as 360's in the market.
