1 - Wow.. that's a big Number.

I mean to say that you are going to sell 1.8 million is pretty big especially, why one of the games in the series was a flop.

Me personally I think it's possible, but I never did get Devil May Cry, I like the first one, it was ok, but I just felt one was enough - To me, and don't hate me for this comment. -"but it just looks like lost planet to me" and that's kind of corny. sorry, just not a big fan.

Nah I don't think they're far off. But that's because the expected XBOX 360 sales. Two Capcom 360 exclusives, Lost Planet and Dead Rising, have both sold between 1 and 2 million copies world wide.

With about at that time 10 million 360 users. If we see that about 16 to 20 million 360's will be out at the end of this year, and the anticipation for DCM4 on their system, I bet again 10% to 20% of all 360 users will buy that game. Which will make 1.6 mln. to max. about 3.5 mln. copies on DMC4 alone on XBOX 360.

@1: DMC2 may've been a flop, but I think DMC3 sure as hell made up for it.

Because alot of PS3 fans being upset that Capcom didn't keep this game exclusive to the PS3 they probably wont buy it. So I feel most of the sales will probably come from the 360 side and not from the PS3 side.

I think doing this is stupid. No point missing out on a good game if it loses exclusivity (unless they seriously butcher it).

Unfortunately this is probably true and some likely won't buy it because of this, but I don't think it'll effect sales that much.

I can see it happening. I personally don't care for the series it's a bit to repetitive but it's got a hugh following. So 1.8 million should be pretty easy.

I think if this game sells 2-1 or even 3-1 over the PS3 this will be a bad thing for the Sony camp because trust me other game developers will be watching. They will understand the best chance for a return is to put it on the 360 also, Even if it causes a Sony fanboy revolt.

Yeah everyone knows it will sell more just due to the difference in install base. But if it is a slaughter and 65-75% of the profit is from the XBOX side, devs are gonna see where they can butter their bread ;)

Heh, unfortunately I have to agree as well. I guess we'll wait and see what other developers decide to do.

I wouldn't get annoyed if some developers decided to do this, I just hate it when focus is shifted from lead to co-development and game features become compromised, for both consoles.

That's almost a mute point. It's like trying to make Soccer popular here in the states. I mean seriously, We call it SOCCER (Not Football) how much hope can you have? It is the same with the 360 in Japan. All though at the moment it is a better system than the PS3 (Software wise) They ignore it all together. But I am mainly saying worldwide sales of the game. Japan will help even it out but trust me the UK has a huge 360 following almost every game on live has someone from across the pond in every round. So the UK+US > Japan.

If that is what you meant. Then I am talking worldwide sales will be 2-1 or 3-1. But yes in Japan it might be 5-1 in favor of the PS3 but Japan is a small market compared to the US and the UK so if the UK and US sell a lot for the 360 it wont matter if every PS3 sells a copy in Japan.

Why does every article have to turn into a which console is better war...How many times can someone say their console is better. Who cares how many games are sold per platform, that doesn't make the game any better...I know everyone wants to have the best technology and have the latest and greatest, but Y cant we all have the latest and greatest.Isn't it enough just to be next gen...I guess not...I am not nocking all the support for the console just the manner in which it is being presented.. 12 - The 360 sales and PS3 sales will be very close..

The 360 is doing well in the US, so so on Europe and trying to hold on in Japan, the PS3 on the other hand is doing well in Japan and so so in Europe and the U.S. so it'll be a close call. But I predict more sales than what they say. Now that it's a multi game I expect more.

I already own the first three on PS2, mother's well just get the fourth for PS3 so I have them all on one platform more or less.

Also, out of the 20 or so 360 owning friends I have, none of them care for DMC4. They're argument is a fair one however. If they like the fourth installment, many don't want to purchase a PS2 to play the other 3. That's my reasoning for believing that DMC4 will probably have more sales on the PS3 then the 360, even with a smaller install base. But it's just my opinion of course based on my friends and I know it can't be generalized to all owners.

i cant wait till i get this game with my ps3 i have the other 3 and this is gone be inside my ps3 as soon as it comes out.oh

and i do hate capcom for puting it on the x180 but it dosent mean i should stop enjoying one of the best action adventure games series of all time. it just means ill only be getting this and resi5 games that are made by capcom the rest the company dont really have anything else to offer me that is out of this world.

With the way Dead rising and Lost planet sold on the 360(close to 2 million EACH) Capcom should have no problems what so ever reaching this amount on 360 alone.

1.8 million huh? If you release DMC4 early then it could sell a lot more copies. So, Capcom release it on the PS3 in 1-2 months time or die at the hands of GTA and MGS.
