Team Ninja to do more PS3 titles

Ninja Gaiden Sigma director Yosuke Hayashi has spiritedly defended the PlayStation 3 in an exclusive interview with Eurogamer - and all but confirmed that Team Ninja will be working on further titles for the platform.

"As I said, people who complain about the difficulty of creating games for PS3 should get out, right?" Hayashi commented. "While I'm saying that kind of thing, if I get out myself, then what I say doesn't mean anything! So, I should stay - right?"

If I'm not mistaken Itagaki said he wouldn't turn his back on Ninja Gaiden fans. That hardly states the game will remain XB exclusive. In all reality I think Team Ninja is going to quickly find that they have a large fan base on both platforms and decide to go multi w/ NG2. If nothing else I'd be surprised if they didn't at least release 2 at some point on the PS3... Referring to the comment about not turning his back on the Ninja Gaiden fans. If it's not already apparent, as if it wasn't apparent enough at the original release [original xbox release] there's an army of Playstation gamers who are also long time NG fans. I still play the original 2 on my NES at least once a year, and bought my xbox exclusively for Ninja Gaiden...

2 - Great to see another great title might be coming the ps3

Now before this turns into a flamewar, Xbox and Sony fans remember this generation has seen many titles jump the exclusive list to go multi-platform and Ninja Gaiden 2, confirmed or unconfirmed by this interview, is no exception. Please read this article as a unconfirmed confirmation that the title might be coming to the ps3 as well. Or even better, maybe a totally new multi-platform game for all systems. But it's nothing bad, it just means more people will get to enjoy the game, period. Based on rough estimates, rather than just have 10 million users enjoy it why not 14 million or 21 million (including the wii)? That is Team Ninja's strategy and way of life in this next generation.

this is a no-brainer.. you don't spend millions investing in a top-notch nextgen gaming engine and use it to produce just one game.. it makes absolute economic sense to release ng2 on the ps3 - especially since they just about to release ng sigma on the ps3.. why bother creating an expensive new ip (mutli-platform saves on developement, marketing and production) when currently the two systems are pretty much complimentary (i.e. few users have both systems).

I'd really be surprised if they're actually even creating a new engine for Ninja Gaiden 2. I think working with the original and updating [as they've now done] would be in their best interest financially. Obviously they can tweak the engine to utilize multiple cores and create advanced AI and anything else they wanted to add to make it a little more next gen. But aside from a tricky camera Ninja Gaiden currently has a very usable engine in which they can produce a sequel with...

Team Ninja Worked with the PS3 hardware and learned how to program it..I dont think they will jus make one game for the Playstation 3 and wasted what they learn from it and never bring another game.Its obvious the NG2 will perhaps come to the PS3..Also in term of power the PS3 have it.. they wasn't able to make it blow up..while the 360 they blew it up a few times..and run out of disk space on just DOA game..I have a big feeling many devlopers will jump to the PS3 as their lead platform especially the one who really want their games to be big and amazing..anyways good news for PS3 owners.

there was no reason for anybody to disagree. good comment bstar, whats happening. I also understand why you wouldnt care if it came out on ps3 only. The game seems a little repetative to me. The xbox 1 was and the ps demo seems the same even on a short demo.

I think we all know what platform they PREFER TO DEVELOP for, and it aint the scratchbox....lol

not read any of Itagakis interviews....
Team Ninja doesn't do ports. That is why Sigma has been built from the groung up for the PS3. Team Ninja is all about quality. Sigma was solely Hayashis project. Itagaki even stated he only dedicated 1% of his time to it.

There was even an article about how 360 is Itagaki's main development platform....and that his XBOX fanbase shouldn't be worried because he has been hard at work on a sequal of sorts(NG2). So don't ever expect ports from Team Ninja. They would never sacrifice the integrity of their game by making it compete with itself on a rival console. What you may get on PS3 is a spin off later such as Sigma or a new IP, but never a port.

For all the people who have PS3 and have never played the XBOX original don't pass up Sigma. Team Ninja knows how to make a great game.

Well I realize that it is impossible to state things based on fact bc fanboys will always feel like they are being attacked(I see that people are disagreeing). I'm not saying that Team Ninja won't make PS3 games, they just won't be ports and also they won't be made by Itagaki. TN do not port games they build them from the ground up to take advantage of hardware to get the best product as of right now only the 360 is getting NG2 and PS3 will just as easily get NG2 as the 360 would MGS4.

You people are crazzy if you think they'll release NGS on PS3 and turn around and rebuild it for PS3 just a couple of years later the lead team will be busy as hell with the 360 and the team that did sigma will be working on new games as the lead team will be; with the lead team only focused on the 360 for half a decade lol.

Go play your PS3 and stop worrying about Xbox franchises its like exspecting the lead series of FF to be focused on Xbox first rather then PlayStation lol.

Its safe to bet MS is working very close with TI and Team Ninja (TI being one of the guys that helped design/create XBOX) with dev support and cash on a Epic scale close to GoW, Halo 3 eventhough for a 3rd party...party. Remember if you read the link #22 posted Team Ninja's not just going to waste their time doing a Sigma on every game that they release on Xbox it was a fluke that gave birth to Sigma We'll see if they have the time in this generation for a PS3 build. The thing to consider here, as was pointed out, is that Team Ninja hasn't done a port in the past, they just max out the hardware for whatever they're working on.

The good news is that they will be working on both platforms, so regardless of which games, we can all expect good titles. I've never doubted their abilities, NG1 was their first action type game, and look how well it did.
