Lair Release Date Pushed Back to Early August

EBgames, Gamestop, and Gamespot are reporting a slight delay in the release of Factor 5's upcoming PS3 title "Lair." This delay is little more than a week, tiny compared to the delays that many games (and subsequently, their fans) have endured. Neither Factor 5 or publisher SCEA have addressed the delay, so save your angry petitions for later.

its just the hype sony put out and the games i actually got were very different.
i have no doubt ps3 will be an amazing platform for games.

no i think you should sell it personally, as if you've had it for a while it's too early...there aren't enough games for you to play, especially if you have a 360. I just got a PS3....which means I have Motorstorm and Resistance to play until Ninja Gaiden and Lair come out. That is my honest opinion, so don't presume my response. But it's not for this news post.

*edit*Well I'm very happy with my purchase...and I feel it'll be worth the money I paid (£390). I've only played Motorstorm, and lots of demos (Sigma)...F1 (WOW, just wow at the GFX) and GTHD (and flow) and I am already satisfied...but since I know the games I want are coming, I am not worried. But i can see that you may not have anything to do if you got it a while ago. Plus this is my only console...so i hvae loads of games to choose from

I had a feeling Lair would be push back slightly or by a month or two.

Mainly because it's suppose to be a big hit for Sony and the developer..so a lot is riding on it.

I say hold it till the end of Aug. or early Sept. to make sure the QC is very good on this product.

Seriously though, this is not even fun. Delay after delay. That hurts.

EDIT: @Deep, thank you for your 4+ words. Yep there are delays, even in PC/360/Wii world. PS3 seems to have most of them anyhow, even the console was late and LAIR just happens to be one of the most waited titles. Look man, I really wish PS3 will do fine. I don't hate PS3 in anyway. It just makes me sad how things are with it now, we all know it does not offer much to gamers at the moment. Many many many articles and industry people say it out loud, almost as many that say there are hardware problems with 360 and that is MANY. PS3 is not doing fine, you can't deny it and it does HURT.

ps. you said Two Worlds.. now that's one game that should be delayed to 2008, imho.

Anyway in gameplay trailers this game keeps looking less compelling gameplay-wise and more PS2-like graphics-wise. There are plenty of PS3 games I'm looking forward to, but while this used to be one, it no longer is.

how the 360 has so many great games. Maybe for certain people but honestly.

I know the PS3 has maybe 2 AAA games total but nothing on the 360 makes me want to buy the system yet.

Maybe when it hits $250 and if Halo turns out to be great then I will buy it.

Its MGS4 and FF for me. Not to mention Lair goes look very nice and I hope it's worth the wait.

I'm playing FFX and FFXII again. SnakeEater is looking pretty good right about now too.

No one cares about what you all have to say about this. Wow they delayed a week, 7 days and its OMG OMG! Thing is you where never going to get the game when it was going to come out 7 days earlier so why do you care? You don't really, its just a chance to take a cheap shot at Sony and the PS3. Something we have come to expect from some 360 fans.

You keep saying you have this wonderful game library and are so happy with your 360, its amazing you have time to stop into a PS3 news story to talk crap or is that like part of the responsiblity of being a 360 owner? You know to knock the competition at every opportunity.

See us PS3 fans don't mind waiting a extra week for this game as its going to be amazing. See Factor 5 checked out what all three companies where going to be doing for this generation of game console and they decided to leave Nintendo and go with the PS3 instead of the 360 as they saw it as having the most power. That's why they are able to do all the things they are in Lair. The 360 could not handle it.

I just preordered the game from Blockbuster, and they have the release set to July 15th. I asked them about this delay, and they said as far as they know there is not one.

The PS3 and the 360 are the same system right now. There is nothing wring with the PS3. I hasn't been a whole year even. People must just hate SONY because the 360 at this point in time of it's launch had crap for games as well. Or maybe no one was worried about anything the 360 had anyways. I just can't wait to see what people say when the graphics and size of the games on PS3 games blow past that of the 360. It will too because you know they are going to figure out the cell processor and then Sony will produce games that no current system can match and they will all have to release new systems with all of the technology that the PS3 has just to keep up.

it seems like as far back as i can remember, games have been getting delayed. i remember MK1 for sega genisis getting delayed and that was a long time ago. psone had delays , ps2 had lots of delays, but ps3 wont have any??? im just happy lair is coming out soon. warhawk and heavenly sword will be next. no matter whats delayed we are getting some great games soon. NGS, Darkness and R6V will hold me off till lair.

29 - Dangerous Waters

The closer Lair moves to the Halo launch the worse it will fair and that is unfortunate as it has potential to finally show off the PS3. I just hope Lair does not turn out to be a Panzer Dragoon/Space Harrier clone. One one hand those are two of my favourite games. On the other hand, I was hoping Lair would be more "heavy handed" than the simple shooter it is coalescing into.
