Sly Denied

One of the most popular rumors floating around the Internet last week was that Sly Cooper 4 is coming to the PlayStation 3. The gossip, reportedly attributed to the next issue of PSM, was popularized at PlayStation fan site PSX Extreme (http://www.psxextreme.com/psp-news/934.html) and it spread to message boards from there. In the article, PSXE claimed that PSM held an interview with the Sucker Punch development team where the following was said regarding the newest installment of Sly Cooper.

"The graphics have been majorly overhauled and the gameplay will be more varied and focused this time around. We're aiming for a fully interactive 3D world, with no loads and seamless interaction between settings and characters."

Surely a next-gen Sly Cooper is in the works but only going to be revealed at the right time. E3 is probably too early for it.

7.1 - Agreed.

There are so many rumors floating around the internet recently that it won't be long before people don't even believe actual news.

I'm an 360 guy. I'm not going to say fan because I'm not anti PS3. When I saw Motorstorm I was awestruck.

But people saying some title is going to be an exclusive when it's not and saying that specific titles are going to be available on other platforms is not going to make it happen. It's going to breed ill will if anything.

In my opinion there should be no exclusives. Understandably that doesn't make good sense from a console sales perspective but why should choice of console determine what games you play.
If I choose a high level video card of a specific brand it doesn't prevent me from playing specific PC games.

So a game requires more than one DVD or has better texturing in one vs the other. I remember certain gamecube games needing more than one disc but they came out.

hmmm apparently I'm rambling. :)

Either way... people stop posting jokes / lies / hatemongering material it only makes the gaming community look petty and breeds more ill will between the developers and the gaming community than anything else. In other words it's hurting us gamers. Not necessarily the people who bought the dreaded "other" console. It's all of us.

8 - i wouldn't worry about it

Sucker Punch *IS apparently working on a secret PS3 title, so there will be something coming out for the console this year, whether or not it's Sly Cooper is still open.

i've noted that, as of late, developers have been in extremem denial mode (kind of like Square-Enix denying flat out that FFXIII would be revealed at E3 2006, only to have a trailer for it).

it's like the entire gaming industry has turned into one giant poker match, with people bluffing all over the place.

i love the Sly Cooper games, and they've done financially well, so i'm hopeful for an eventual PS3 entry to the series.

but considering the healthy number of titles hitting the console this year, i'm a little too preoccupied to fret over Sly.

Sly is one of my fav. series. I can`t wait to see what kind of puzzles/security systems they got in store this time.
They can deny it all they want it`s coming out and as soon as possible would be the best thing for them, so it doesn`t get lost beside a bunch of other great games (again)

yes, sucker punch has had a "secret IP" announced for 2007 since 2005.
same w/ Factor 5 (probaly rogue squadron). E3.e3.E3.

Rogue Squadron would be one awesome game on the PS3. Though I do not think it will come out it would be cool to see. The last time I heard Factor 5 only wanted to make new IPs from now on. So RS does not make the cut.
