More features for PS3 version of Just Cause 2

PlayDevil just got back from a 'Just Cause 2' event in London where developer Avalanche announced a few interesting EXCLUSIVE PS3 features for their upcoming action/adventure game.
These will not be inserted into the X360 version.

OMG, the Bad Company 2 beta, now THIS! This is starting a trend, im SOO happy I have a PS3! We all knew this would happen, in due time, ALL multiplats will be better on the PS3 and have exclusive things on the PS3. Developers are realizing the potential in the PS3 and how to use it to their advantage. Not trying ta hate on the 360, but I thk(with the exception of COD) that it will lose its edge in multiplats very soon.

Bloody awesome.
The features that were implemented in 2.30 firmware (i think) with video capture are being used.. awesome :)
Just Cause was a fun sandbox.. and now it looks like JC2 will be a badass sandbox.

Only reason this hasn't been done before is; "teh multiplat same factor". Devs leaving whole features out of a version because either machine can't support it. If MS didn't mandate and cross game chat in all 360 games they would probably leave it out!

One of the reasons exclusives get so much attention. 3rd party devs will leave anything out if they can, instead of making the most out of everything a system has to offer. We should have 2 versions with five different features in each!

no, its because Sony provides tools to do this stuff. Most companies aren't brave enough to take advantage of these tools, because they are either:
1. scared of getting slammed by 1 console only owners
2. They are inefficiently using the hardware so they can't use these tools.

Yeah the media format has nothing to do with this.

It's probably got more to do with the PS3 having a HDD as standard in every console but then again I'm sure they could have enabled some of those features if it detected a HDD in the 360 it was being played on...or maybe it does have something to do with the dev tools available like someone else mentioned....maybe a combo of all these things.

I only buy one multiplat a year, and this year I choose you JC2! I'm glad this game decided to do this, because I chose this awhile ago.

You just need one special mechanic, nobody else has done and you get my money. With the creative possibilities in video gaming, there is no excuse for lack of creativity!

Exactly. All of this is part of the firmware and dev kits now and just needs to be enabled and programmed to their desires by developers. It's likely that it's taking off more now since the first two years of PS3 development were spent by most learning the architecture and focusing on making their games the same on the 360 and PS3. Now, with more experience, people will find the time to implement the features that are available.

It's not likely that it was paid for. The SOLE reason it's on PS3 and not 360 is because of the mandatory HDD included in every PS3, and the youtube upload was an added feature a while back.

9 - Hmm that's an interesting feature indeed.
I'll still go with the 360 version as I can capture footage in highdef already. But I like the additions of replays in games and savable footage. Wonder why it wasn't included in the 360 version tho...

Hmm I suppose one could speculate that based on a previous slip of the tongue from a developer that MS is already making this a console feature. Since this game comes out next spring, around the time of the bi annual major system updates for 360...maybe the feature will be showing up then?

Well that's my aimless speculation for the day. Still nice exclusive for the PS3 addition...actually I may wait til release day to decide which one to pick up. May be a few more perks included in the PS3 one not yet brought up.

[EDIT} oh or like mentioned above somewhere this may just have to do with the fact this feature is already in the PS3.

Good stuff for ps3 only owners.

360 owners need'nt worry though, both consoles get exclusive content from third parties, on the N4G peding bit theres a game which was meant to be ps3 exclusive, but is now apparently on the 360 with extras.

Just like red alert 3 having more on the ps3.

It all goes both ways at the end of the day.

Getting ripped off for extra content is better in your books($20 for bad GTA4 stories, $60 for ODST and those MW2 maps would be in the game already, but they know you idiots will pay extra for it on top of the game costing extra already). for the record the last games I have "the 360 FANBOY" are gears of war 2 and Halo 3. gamer tag Monkey O Rly

I have the rest on my PS3 check my gamer tag before calling me A "FANBOY". PSN lord_monkey

if I recall the only exclusives content we had were for mirrors edge and Batman :AA(this was great because it was free- props to the devs).
