But they can say robust for anything. I'm pretty sure Sony said that the PS3 launch titles are the most robust software to be found, or something like that. I know there's a good chuck of those I want but as 6 said we do have to wait awhile still

Folklore is hot, and quite frankly, thats about it.(for me) Nothing even close to superb on that list.

Hey whoever has a PS3 should be excited(it's about time), but without one, checkout the 360's line-up you won't be disappointed.(if your starting to get a hernia, sitting on the fence)

If that's all The PS3 has, then no PS3 for me (THIS YEAR). I'm not gonna buy a $600+ console for One game. Then again, this is just me, I wonder who else is on the same boat.

That looks like a damn good list of games, and I don't give a damn if some of them are also on 360.

I own a PS2, and have for six years (same one, never replaced) and have consistantly found good, fun, games to play on it. Xbox may have had better graphics, but everything else about PS2 is better. Except online, of course, but I don't really care. I'm not going to pay extra just to play a game I've already paid for online.

Free online? Sounds good to me. May not be as good as Live, but so what? I'm not paying a dime for it, so I got what I paid for.

It's just like if someone gave you a BigXtra from McDonald's. Would you complain that it's not a Whopper w/cheese? No, you wouldn't. Because essentially it's the same damn thing, and plus it was free.

So pay $600 for a system, then get free online for the entire time I own it? Superior games (sorry Halo and Gears fans, they're really good games but they're not MGS or God of War,) as well?

AND a better controller? The 360 controller is OK, not anything spectacular, but I still like my DualShock. And once SixAxis has rumble, I'll be in fanboy heaven.

So I guess I'm a Sony geek, as much as I hate giant corporations, but maybe I would like them less if they stopped putting out such fun games.

So Xbox and 360 owners can go back to playing the endless barrage of shooters they have thrust down their gullet year after year, and I'll go ahead and play one of my many different GENRES of games I own.

I'm done, so go ahead and insult and attack me, because I know how imporatant it is for all you gamer geeks to justify your pointless existance filled with sitting around playing games, instead of actually GOING OUTSIDE!

You make some good points, but I think HOME is thought of as a "game" simply because, well - it is kind of like a game to design "yourself" or a similar likeness or character depiction and then designing and setting up your "home," "apartment" or whatever with personal photos, music, videos, w/e. Also there are actually "GAMES" in Home to play so there's my logic.

Accurately stated, Spiderman 3 the game does suck and it would suck anywhere anytime on the face of the planet. Not sure what's going on between the actual comic books, to movies to game iterations, but someone needs their a$$ whupped at Marvel for allowing cheap a$$ games to be borne from the franchise. One of the two best versions I can remember was the massive Marvel Heroes Arcade Game that I used to stand in front of with quarters amassed ready to enjoy the giant Quad screen action and of course, the Mack - Daddy of Marvel games imho - Marvel vs. Capcom II. Those were the best.

Onto the multiplats: only a few were such and these have to be listed as part of the folio this fiscal year from a press release standpoint. I don't mind that there are multi's - that really doesn't bother me. It's just the games that I thought were going to be multi, but then go timed exclusive (like Ace Combat 6) that bothered me, but if I find their coming to both the PS3 and the XBox 360 it really doesn't bother me at all -- comparable to the whole MGS4 debacle -- who really cares?

I like your inclination toward Warhawk as I too eagerly anticipate playing this game, but also Heavenly Sword and Drakes Fortune are going to be absolutely superb imho. Overall the PS3 needs games and I don't think anyone can deny that this is not an earnest and healthy list for the starving console.

This line up is the reason I chose a PS3 instead of a 360. When a 360 fan comes in here and says, "I only want one game." I actually get happy. People who like xbox like a certain type of game as can be seen by comments in this very thread. Drakes Fortune and Heavenly Sword are enough reason to be happy. Nothing like that is coming out for the 360.

Socom is huge for the PS brand. That game alone will sell consoles. Then we have LBP, Lair, Rathcet and Clank, Eye of Jusdgement, Singstar, Warhawk, Pain and Folklore. Plenty of other games coming out too. MGS4 next year. FFXIII next year. Killzone ...well who knows. Other games coming out on both consoles look good too such as Haze and DMC.

If these games aren't for you, I'm sure you'll be happy with your 360. There's just plenty of games that are going to make me and plenty other people happy with our PS3's.

I don't own a 360, and I'm not a negativist so I don't have much to say about their line-up. But wwhat I will say is that the PS3 is making a great and diverse offering of games this fall. I was fortunate enough to beta Warhawk and to me it's one of the purest, honest to god fun online games I've played since Diablo 2.

Uncharted and Heavenly Sword are both IPs that I anticipate to release to great acclaim. They're both quality titles that certainly seem like games worth buying. And then there's LBP, the Viva Pinata to the PS3.

To me, Sony is doing an excellent job lining a very solid online service and experience. Home, LBP, Warhawk, Socom will all be 95-100% online and to me the replayability factor for these games are huge. Sony understands that the PSN needs to be more than games like FlOw and Calling all Cars, but mostly quality multiplayer games. Games like those have appeal.

As a PC gamer thats what appeals to me, I've been online with my games since D2. And that's what I'm anticipating from this Fall line-up. A really awesome online experience with some quality offline experiences too. (Uncharted, Heavenly Sword)

I can't wait for most of these games, very diverse indeed. I'm soooo unconcerned with whatever the 360 is coming out with. They don't really want to diversify their line up it seems. Microsoft makes FPS and thats about it. Sony makes action, rpg, mmo, sports and rpg games so I'm not worried at all. Plus E3 is indeed coming and Sony also has the Tokyo Game Convention to shine also, thats in September I believe. It looks to be a good year!

...here's a lineup for you. Sony is the leader, there is just no
doubts about it. 360 just has nothing which can be categorize
as 'going beyond'. Gears being the best thing on 360 has absolutely
nothing next-gen about it but graphics. For entering next-gen you got
to experience Sony's lineup, and see what they've gotten ready in just
six months what 360 hasn't in over 1-1/2 years:

"Little Big Planet" : The essence of next-gen, forget everything else.

"Lair" : Forget everything what any other console can do, they just
can't do Lair. A true PS3 gem showing most of its capabilities. While
you get fire, water, smoke, fur, wind, clouds and rain all in real-time
through procedural syhthesis, the 32X32 miles scale of the stages and
really astounding usage of Sixaxis capabilities with multi-genre
gameplay types and full-on accessibilties, this is one polygon-fest you
might not be seiing again this year. A true going b3yond software.

"WarHawk" : Freedom, arsenal, collateral damage PLUS Breathtaking physics and visuals PLUS 32 player online like.no.other...Halo3 is all
hype and no content.

"Heavenly Sword" : No other system right now has THIS fighting engine
running besides PS3. A cinematic experience, Blu-Ray quality.......
an owning parade into next-gen.

"Uncharted" : Need I say more ?...it came out of nowhere and struck
with jaw-shattering force. You won't find THIS much gameplay even if
you combine the likes of Gears with Too Human and Conviction. From
physics to visuals...from stealth to resi-evil 4 style camera action,
from Prince of persia level plat-forming and camera handing to MGS
style covert action, from Splinter cell like stealth to Tomb Raider
esque puzzle solving...amn, all character in this one...HOT !!!

"Ratchet 5": Fun starts and ends on this one...and in next-gen its all
about upping the FUN-FACTOR. Unmatched weaponry, humour, stage design
and multi-genre gameplay.

"HOME": A collection of games mixed with 3D virtual reality(due to true
physics) social activity...a real next-gen treat brought straight by
the vendors themselves, free !!! Go arcade gaming or snooker,
match-making or movie-hunting, HOME is the world that define next-gen
of online !

"FolkLore" : Whenever a Japanese does something, its just great, we
don't know what secret they have but it just defines the genre in
itself. This gem of a game also came out of nowhere but has such a
compelling plot that transcends every other notion of gaming. It makes
you feel so immersed even in the trailer that definitely get you saying
you don't need anything else but to reach the end of this multi-themed
RPG masterpiece.

Nothing beats the above beasts, moreover the compelling innovation of
'Eye of Judgement' and the tongue-in-cheeky 'Pain', just adds to true
innovation which the 360 is a far cry from having. 360 games are

I just don't see the Japanese or anyone else getting that much into the Blue Dragon title. Yea I know it's made by Mystwalker but everyone world wide knows that if you want RPG's, Sony is the way to go. I don't see people here who want FF dropping $450ish to get the 360 just for that title, Japan and Europe I see the same thing. RPG's are owned by Sony.

This list makes me very sad for Sony... it's more like >less< than 30 games coming. I don't include downloadables as full game releases, oblivion is already out and home isn't a game. That leaves 28 releases on the ps3 in the NEXT YEAR and only TEN of them are exclusive and that's assuming nothing gets delayed. Sad.
Oh well, I don't plan to purchase one until it's under $300 anyway...

i think it's safe to say that nobody really buys a games console for it's early, first 6 months on the market titles. that's just...silly.

i bought a PS3 for titles that have been released, titles that are forthcoming this year, and titles that haven't been announced yet:

i'm sure that's not even all of them, just the ones off the top of my head. between these titles, most of which are releasing either this year, or next year, are more than enough to keep me busy for a long time, or until more like them are released. that's 20 must haves already. it's crazy. at this point in the PS2's lifecycle, i could barely name 5 games that i really, really just had to have. now i have 20 for the PS3, 15 of which are exclusive to the platform. *THAT's why i was sold on the PS3.

i've thrown my money in with the PS3 for now, and i've yet to be disappointed. it gets updated with cool new features regularly, and like anybody who's been gaming longer than 20 years will tell you: it takes time for the truly impressive games to come out, and they never hit within the first 6 months of a consoles release, so while the wait is still annoying, i know there will be an end to it, and soon (at least Ninja Gaiden Sigma hits on my birthday, and that should tide me over until more games come out. of course, i could always buy it from the store across the street from my house, as it'll have the import version in two weeks, when it releases in Japan. hmmm...)

the 360 has some great exclusives coming too, but i'm too busy with the PS3 titles hitting this year to invest in another console right now. i'll probably pick up a 360 when Fable 2 and Mass Effect come out (my fiancee really loves Fable, and is very interested in Mass Effect), but the majority of my gaming cash and time will be spent on PS3 gaming.

i really like that each console has their own sort of market and demographic that they're catering to, and there's legitimate reasons to own both consoles, as there are gaming experiences that you won't be able to get on one, but will be able to on the other.

the 360 and PS3 are two totally different beasts, and though it may seem like they are similar (due to multi-plat titles and what not), they are *NOT the same, and they offer unique features to the user.

ideally, i'd love to have both, but for now, and the immediate future (this year), the PS3 has more titles that interest me.

+ Warhawk, Uncharted, Haze, R&C, HS, SingStar, Eye & Others
will more than satisfy my gaming needs for the next year until the established franchises(MGS, FF, GT etc) and new IPs come out.

It's not how big the list is but its quality....diverse fun games.
