Those are some cool ads by Sony. Love 'em but somehow they remind me of those Progressive Car Insurance ads with that same chick in all their ads. Anyway, Sony has got a great ad campaign going and I hope they will continue through the holiday season!

but they're informative. A crying baby in a white room that suddenly melts with tears coming out of its eyes? What!

This is short, sweet, and to the point. Reminescent of the PS2 type ads. And the frequency with which they're shown is incredible. Everyone has seen these ads. My mom asked if she should buy a PS3 instead of another blu-ray player!

It was slow out of the gate, lagging behind everyone else; and few people 'got it'.

But of course, Sony hit their stride a couple years in and now they're wowing everyone again. Good for them - I look forward to seeing more folks on PSN this Christmas.

Really love these ads. I have to admit these are the first gaming ads that have ever clicked with me. Normally I watch them and "oh yeah that game is out now" or "....", but I now actually find myself wanting to purchase a PS3 just because of the ad.....except I already own one.

1.22 - Effective Marketing, Finally

I am glad to see Sony finally stepping it up with the marketing campaign this holiday season. Lets hope they keep pushing the momentum forward into the next year and not just for the holidays. Even the 360 fanboys should be happy with the competition since it will trickle down to them getting better games and services as well if Sony starts eating up more of the market. Competition is a good thing for everyone.

On the ads themselves, the "Rumor" ad was awesome but I think the "Girlfriend" one was epic especially with the way the guy says "what?!?" near the beginning. That kills me every time. Pay attention Sony. Funny catchy ads will win American hearts every time but the obscure, supposedly thought provoking ads just leave the audience wondering if they just saw a PS3 ad or a "Save The Children" ad.

I totally agree, these are the best ads ever and ms better watch out cause these ads are sparking the ps3 all over again. Extremly funny and do everything you want a ad to do, funny,cool etc...shows all the abilities of the ps3 in simple cool funny ads.

They're either butthurt about the Dreamcast STILL, or just fanboys of the 360/PC/Wii and not a PS3 fanboy. As a owner of multiple consoles,I don't want any to fail, and even if I only ever owned a PS3 I wouldn't want the 360 to fail, because a one console world will be crappy. Most people who post here don't know about the NES days when the NES dominated the market so much so that Nintendo were Nazis to the point that they controlled every game, and put their "seal of quality" on everything only because they followed their strict rules, not because the game was of any real quality.

I agree, but its not to say that the 360 or Wii is offering anything of good value is it?
Currently one console is all I can afford for atm.

PS3 has everything and its not a lie.
PS3 has Motion Controls next year.
A diversity of games etc.

Nintendo are not developing newIPS, too stubborn.
The Wii is only good for Family fun.
Too casual for mainstream gamers.
Shouldn't be grouped with the 360 or PS3. Thank You.

M$ is just corrupting the games industry and needs to leave and they'll be the only one making themselves leave.

They constantly lie.
They haven't improved the hardware. (there's alot of malfunctions)

5 - The PS3 commercials since the Dustin Pedroia MLB The Show commercial are just hilarious.

They are so good that when we're watching sports, etc. and a commercial comes on everyone will actually pay attention to the commercial whereas most commercials are just ignored.
