Uncharted 2 didn't need anybody to hype it up, it simply over delivered. Its funny how the tables have turned...it used to be the PS3 has no games...now the 360 has nothing interesting this year other than an inferior PC game!

Nothing out there that's crazy innovative. Just more squeals. Sure they'll be fun...but I think game of the year needs to do something different.
I would probably say uncharted will get it...just because the cinematic feel and visuals... But then again...Modern Warfare has had it's gameplay nailed for a while now...
But Batman seems to most original...
Good thing it's not my call.

First off this game and all the past COD's are PC games! dont let the sales on consoles fool you!!.
360 is the LCD for ports.For it is a budget PC and the blurry Lowdef textures and such are all attributed to the EDRAM and the lack of Hard drive and such.

GET THE PC version and enjoy the Fully Optimized version of the game where the Dual core is used and Hard drive speeds and storage space along with the High bandwidth Fat Ram laden Video Cards.

360 fanboys and PS3 Boys realize this FACT..

I wont lie I am enjoying it so far and the spec ops looks fun can't wait to try it in a day or 2... It however is not even close to UC2 in anyway imo... MW2's story was so freaking over the top... but more in a action B movie kinda way. It was a heck of a ride and enjoyable but totally not believable or real in any way... UC2 feels like old indiana jones. Maybe not realistic but a heck of a lot of fun...

MW2 was seriously too short. The MP is fun but with the millions upon million they made off the last game you think they could have done a little more with this one... Not that it's bad but...

Game of the year? Never in this lifetime in my book. Graphics are beyond subpar. Blame Uncharted 2 for that. As stated above, this game is not even worth mentioning for game of the year. Sales doesn't mean GOTY. If that was the case (and thank christ it isn't), then Transformers 2 would win the best picture oscar.

Uncharted 2 = 2009 GOTY. MW2's release confirmed that for me.

I was going to say the PS3 version does look really washed out, but then I got to the torturing pics and you can clearly see that the light is brighter on the PS3 version, making this completely a brightness issue.

The light doesn't even brighten the guy in the 360 version. It is as if they are purposely lowering the brightness in order to hide something! When you look at the PC version, the game has the more dark contrast, but the light is really lighting up the guy.

Console gamers will eat it up though, they're going to be fine with the jaggies and almost completely unreadable text on items in the environment.

It looks great, but I'll be damned if Activision is going to get my money after the way they've been treating their PC customers, especially when it comes to this game. Damn download takes forever. I prefer the console version and btw. for some reason it does have much more contrast in my TV than in these pictures. Don't know why?
PC version looks great as well but I prefer my cozy sofa, 40' HDTV, 5.1 Surround system and a controller which actually has a trigger for shooting and thumbsticks for moving. Mouse and keyboard are so unnatural and 90's, reminds me of playing the first Quake.

PC gaming is going down hill and dies soon completely. Don't get me wrong, I grew up with PC games like Kings Quest and UFO:EU, but only games that are still better on PC are strategy games and games like EVE-Online (oh, please make a console version of that!)

My bad for not specifying. I can see how my comment seemed contradictory. What I meant was I can play any game on my PC at 60fps without any of the tradeoffs that Krakn3Dfx mentioned. So no, I haven't played MW2 yet, but given how well the first one runs, and the fact that it seems to me that they're still using the same engine, with a few tweaks, I'm fairly certain I'll be able to run it just as well. But no, I was not meaning that I have played MW2 on my PC just to turn around and state that I hadn't.

If anything, these shots will not do the game justice on the pc, because they are not running at it's max resolution. Way above 1080p, I promise you that.
And they don't seem to have any sort of multi sampled AA applied.

You do know that the i7 and i5 Intel CPU's ass hands the Cell CPU in many areas especially related to 3D rendering? Hell even the last cycle CPU's do the same. Lets not even mention the GPU inside PC's that are in the mid range category...
Those $100-$150 GPU's are twice as powerful as the GPU inside the PS3.
Then compare the 5870 higher end GPU's to the PS3 Gpu and its a laugh all day affair.
Come talk to us when the PS3 or Xbox360 can render games at 2560x1600 @ 60FPS or better with 8X FSAA and 16x AF enabled.
Don't think the PS3 can compete with a PC. That's just ass foolish.

Btw. Blu Ray is just a storage medium. Considering games are fully installed on the PC, storage medium is not an issue. Shadowing and lighting and other effects IS NOT CALCULATED BY THE BLU RAY DISK LMFAO. You actually think this? LOL
Those computations are done by the GPU and CPU with the aid of memory and bandwidth. CONSIDERING THE CPU and GPU inside modern PC's these days see literally 3 times as fast as the PS3 or Xbox360, your statement is so false its scary. 512mg of total memory compared to GPu's that have 1g or more if you add in crossfire or SLI.

lol really now? blu ray doesn't matter for pc man, do your research. i'm getting my version off steam that version has no disc whatsoever. blu ray isn't needed for pc when every game is installed and many games don't even need a disc in the disc drive to run the game. reason being we run it mostly off our HDD while consoles run it off the disc. and blu ray has nothing to do with graphics. its the cell assisting the rsx that lets killzone 2 and uncharted 2 look the way they do. blu ray just helps with less disc swapping.

Just so you understand why everyone is laughing at you, I'm going to provide you with a small lesson on what exactly Blu-ray does for gaming.

As mentioned above, Blu-ray is a storage medium. That means it is just a type of disc, and in this case one that can hold up to 50GBs of information (on a dual layer disc). This means that it can hold over 5 times the amount of information that a dual layer DVD (or DVD9) can hold. In turn, that means that if a game were to take full advantage of the Blu-ray disc, it could have higher resolution textures (which are larger in memory size and requires more space on the storage medium) as well as higher quality audio and video for per-rendered cut scenes. The higher resolution textures would make the game look better, but only so long as the console can process the textures quickly enough to make use of them.

Unfortunately you won't see any of that with a multi-platform game. At least, not on the console side. Developers will always cater to the lowest common denominator, which in this case is the Xbox 360. Since the Xbox is stuck using DVD9 as it's storage medium, both console versions will get the same basic game information. So even though the PS3 version could be released on a Blu-ray disc, it would still have the same >8.5GBs of information that the Xbox version gets. The PC doesn't have this problem, and is given higher resolution textures in it's release, giving the game a better look. Until consoles get to the point where they are able to process the same resolution of textures as a PC without suffering performance issues, the PC version will always look better.

Keep in mind there may also be differences in the polygon count of models and game level design for the console versions compared to the PC version. This isn't very common anymore, as usually consoles are able to render the same amount of polygons as a PC, just not in as high of a resolution or with anti-aliasing, which is why you get all those nasty jaggies.

I could go into a lot more detail, but hopefully you get the point. It's not about the storage medium, but what goes on the storage medium and how well the console is able to process that information that matters.

Yeah, but it doesn't take detailed knowledge of the workings of a computer to be able to own and operate a decent gaming PC. Honestly, the only reason I defend the PC so much is because of all the console fanboys who don't realize that without the PC there would be no consoles. I am a gamer, and I don't care what I play a game on, with the minor exception of shooters. Once consoles allow me to use a keyboard and mouse I'll stop caring entirely. That is of course as long as my Xbox comes back from it's second time in the repair shop and works for more than a couple weeks. If it doesn't then I'll just stick with my PC and my PS3.

They are screen captures. Not off screen.
This means that the image is taken before it gets to the Tv. Straight from the source. This is the native signal, showing you exactly what it will look like before the tv gets ahold of it.
The better contrast you're seeing on the pc version is due to better textures, and higher resolution.
