ThatGamingSite: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time Review

The Ratchet & Clank franchise is now fully established, but for some reason among all the different 3D platformers of the PS2 era it never seemed to catch my attention. On the PS3, the impressive graphics and smooth gameplay now pop, making this an intriguing purchase. The first two games of this trilogy suffered from mild hiccups, namely that Tools of Destruction implemented the Sixaxis motion controls to its fault and Quest for Booty was hardly a full game, but none of that can be said for A Crack in Time. This game has everything you could ever want from a game: a solid story, impressive graphics, professional sound design and silky smooth gameplay. Without a doubt, A Crack in Time is the complete package and a must buy for platforming fans on the PS3.

I haven't played a Ratchet and Clank game in ages, might give this one a go if I can.

I haven't played any of the games except the demo for this one which didn't come across to me as a 10/10 game but I guess I'll have to give the full thing a try.

Actually there are TWO demos. One for Clank and one for Ratchet.

The retail game is brilliant. Whether it is a 10/10 depends on your personal preferences. For me it is. Game is tremendously fun, gorgeous and puzzles are really smart, it will get you scratching your head. Not to mention it got a lot of stuff to do.

A deserved score indeed. Ratchet and Clank never fail me, I find this one to be the most diverse in both gameplay and environment.

2.1 - Agreed.
This is my fourth R&C game and after 4-5 hours in it, I'd say it's the best I've played. Better looking than even Tools of Destruction. Edge and Eurogamer gave it a 7 saying the series has been the same for the last seven years. I don't remember seeing anything like Clank replicating himself. It's slightly mind-boggling, but now that I'm getting better at it, I think it actually brings gaming to a whole new level. 10 from me, too.
