PlayStation LifeStyle writes,

"Developer Rhino Studios and publisher Natsume have finally brought Afrika, a photography sim, over to the West, though perhaps they left the fun on the plane."

1 - I really appreciate unique games, like flower
but this one really seems to have missed the mark

I think it's relaxing. I got it for the same reason I got Aquanaut's Holiday. I don't think it's crap at all. It's just different.

Perhaps I'm being a little closed minded, I'm sure your not alone in enjoying it, but for my tastes it's just everything I don't want in a game.

i saw this coming a month ago, when nobody mentioned anything about a story or exploration or anything else that would be interesting or fun

I could see myself buying this to gain relaxation ( the same as I did with flower ). Games such as those two are good for relaxing the mind, and I played flower before writing a paper, honestly it calmed me down a lot more than my metal music does, even though I played it while writing the paper.

Honestly the game doesn't seem to be for everybody, but to me it seems like something I could sink my teeth in to.

I like to wake up naturally and it takes a while. I found Flower to be perfect before I get out of the bed. Afrika seems to be another low adrenaline game, which I might consider for the same purpose. Before I go to sleep I like Persona 4. To get a boost of adrenaline for the rest of the day I'll do the shooters and fighting games.

Seems like a niche game that's destined for low sales in the US. It did well in Japan and Hong Kong though, and I think that was their main goal. The US seems to be an afterthought since it's been available in Honk Kong, in English, for some time.

I'd like to try it out, too bad they didn't make it a download title.

Dang, wasn't this game originally a first-party title in Japan? SCEJ needs to step their QA up to the standards of SCEA and SCEE. I mean, games like Folklore and SIREN: Blood Curse (although both that I own and love) can't compare to the first Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, and even the first Resistance and Motorstorm which came out around the same time and before the release of these 2.
