Rainbow Six: Vegas Hands-on PS3

Lock and load with the PlayStation 3 version for the first time.

was originally announced as a launch-window title for the PlayStation 3, and yet delay after delay pushed back its release until what now looks like it'll be sometime soon (hopefully). We had a chance to pick up the controls of the PS3 version for the first time yesterday in San Diego at Sony's gamer's Day, though unfortunately it looks as if the development must have been spent on fixing bugs and optimization as opposed to adding new content as what we saw was largely the same as the Xbox 360 and PC games.

1.1 - Not lazy...

It's just that the PS3 COSTS more to develop for and money's the name of the game. It will always hold the PS3 back unless the developers get better tools or Sony lets them charge more for games. I'd imagine the former rather than the latter but who knows when it will happen?

look at dirt, graw2, splintercell even half-life 2 .

its a great system ...... but it is hard to work compared to 360 .

deal with it....
the devs are doing there best .

Graw 2 looks better and has more stuff on the PS3. So does oblivion. Many devs have already stated that other devs are being lazy.

5 - Have You Played RS:V On 360?

Keep calling them lazy and blaming them for the difficult software toolsets, and compromising memory/cpu/gpu hardware architecture, and perhalps one day they will decide not to develop/port any games to the ps3.

i dont think rainbow six is all that great, i bought it used to try it out...maybe played it a few hours and that game hasnt seen the inside of my 360 since.

it's what made the game for me and led me to complete it. normally i dont finish games to the end, i got to a point where i would play nothing BUT r6v and when it ended i said WTF?! IT CANT BE OVER NOW!?!!? I WAS JUST GETTING INTO IT!

its a great game, ps3 owners, ild HIGHLY recommend this game. it is the one i currently play the most of everything i have

Are you insane? Why would Ubisoft be "lazy" with a product that makes their living? The better their product is the more money they make from it. Some of you talk like developers are biased towards different systems . Like they would go: "Let's make the Ps3 version lesser so that it benefits the Xbox 360 fanboys!" Let's not put all our efforts into making this game as good as we can in order to make more money from it...

Im surprised. Anyway as long as the multiplayer is the same im going to pick this one up. I know this game was designed with the X360 as the main platform. PS3 and PC ports get screwed. IMO the PC should have been the main.That version SUCKED ASS. Shame really. Im still going to pick it up for the PS3 though. Hopefuly they will also add the red pack in the BD disk. I dont want to have to pay for that again like on XBL.

I love reading the excuses the sony duds keep giving. "The developers are just lazy" HAHA!!! How many more games is it going to take for you idiots to realize the ps3 is inferior to the 360??? Rainbow Six: Vegas is a fantastic AAA game and once again the 360 gets the better version.

Rainbow 6, Graw 2, Call of Duty 4, Army of Two, etc...the list continues to grow. These games have been said that the 360 version looks better. How many more games is it going to take for you sony duds to get your head out of your asses???

The Xbox 1 had no difficulty with PS2 ports. Why does the PS3 have problems. It's $200 more? How can anyone justify that cost? We keep waiting for better games on PS3, but it isn't happening. (It won't happen at all since the PS3 is doomed, anyways.)

16 - Sony still Advertises the 360 scores.

On the PS3 ad for Rainbow 6, it shows the ratings like 9.5 and 5 out of 5. But in small writing at the bottom, it says:

"Scores pertain to Xbox 360 version"

I played it on 360, so I wont be buying it for my PS3.

I agree why did the Xbox top the PS2 from day one when the devs did not know about the Xbox hardware.

#16 agreed thats part of the reason Sony crushed the competition last generation, game ads often showed the Xbox versions visuals but PS2 was shown in big lettering with Xbox in small print on the bottom corner of the screen, why not Sony was the leader devs had games to sell and the xbox's capabilities helped sell to the bulk of gamers that were PS2 owners. Shaddy.

At this point I think its obvious that it takes "extra" work on the part of dev's to get the same level of graphics achieved on the 360, which means more money....otherwise a simple port will not look "exactly" like its 360 counterpart....but hell that doesn't mean it looks terrible, if you really like the game you won't even notice.

BTW, I don't recall seeing this particular story on N4G a week ago, but maybe I missed it....after a quick checked with the search feature, I didn't see a "duplicate", so I can't blame "Pritchard" if it is one....deep save me the trouble next time and just give the link where it was posted before. -Thanks.
