Frankly the game deserves more sales cause it was really one of the best FPS I have played this gen.

Everything from graphics to 32 player polished multi-player was truly something that pushed boundaries. But there was really so much negative media as if people wanted it to fail or something. They took the new weighty controls as something bad and really ripped the thing to the point where even GG had to send in a high precision patch to suffice the outcry.... Seems floaty COD and Halo controls have spoilt a lot of people.

Anyways, it's good numbers for any game... Hopefully will sell more than 2.5-3 million in it's lifetime like Uncharted 1 did...

Come on GG bring on KZ3.

It's sad that some fanboys will look at this and say "Whaaat? ONLY 2 million? Hahahahahah! Failure!" when games like Mass Effect and Dead rising ONLY sold 2 million, also. And when games like Too Human, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Banjo Kazooie: N&B didn't even manage 1 million.

as much as I would've loved to have seen this guy do ODST numbers, I'm glad Sony and Guerilla had success with the game. I really think another strong marketing push (like what Uncharted 2 is getting) would do wonders for the game.

It did really well and the game is awesome so who cares what fanboys say. If you enjoy playing it like I enjoy playing it then it's not a failure.

i mean lets be serious the fps genre has never been a big seller on the play station platforms the best sellin games on playstation consoles have been action adventures,rpg's and racing sims, the best selling fps in ps platform history was medal of honor frontline on the ps2 which sold over 6million , the fps genre has never been a magor genre on the sony platforms.

There is not a single game that feel like it does. The sense of weight is amazing, and I really feel like every other shooter should implement this. This whole jumping 15 feet in the air stuff needs to stop.

All Killzone 3 needs is better story telling, because Killzone 2 had a great story, but they didn't pend any time telling it or developing the characters.

Oh, and a little bit tighter controls.

And 2 Million s in a great number considering that the PSN community is split between killzone , resistance , socom , warhawk , metal gear solid online ( all of them sold well and are still well played ).

Sony games usually don't sell in OMGHALO numbers.

Even with 140 million PS2 user base, it's rare to find a game sell over 4 or 5 million. Even some of their biggest franchises like GOW didn't reach 4 million for either game, I believe

Playstation users are just more diverse.

So it's a pretty cool accomplishment for GG with a substantially lower userbase

GT, GTA, and Halo numbers are the exception; not the norm...

I can be critically as well as love it. My ony REAL complaint would be the lack of open air maps. Most maps were very close quarters, but I did love them, it just needs more variety.

Also, I feel like when your scoped you should have more Aim-Assist then when you are firing at the hip. I think this single issue is what confused alot of people. I don't think the "mainstream" could adapt and to a point I agree. If i'm scoped it should always be easy to hit a target. This will force people to scope and take shots rather then use the additional window of view you get from firing at the hip.

besides those 2 things, I thouroughly enjoyed it. Hell if they release any new patches or changes i'll be sucked back in. I've kinda been holding off playing it, because everytime i pick it up i'm on it for hours. lol. (Which i'm doing with Demon's Souls anyway lol)

Well, ND said that they hoped that U2 will sell 2.5 million. I guess 2.5 million copies would have made U2 pretty profitable. Now, I know KZ2 was made in 5 years and they did a fantastic job with this title. Hands down the BEST shooter this gen but I think they would have desired even better results. Anyway, I hope that the next killzone will be easier to make since now they have the infrastructure to improve even more (if that's possible as KZ2 will simply outstanding).

Maybe a year from now, they'd hit 2.5 - 3 million? I hope they do because again, GG did an amazing job with KZ2 and it is a shame that negative journalism and naive COD4 addict gamers were not ready to accept something different even though it was the BEST FPS made this gen! Heck who knows, maybe they have even touched 2.5 million already, I mean this is after all VGCHARTS!

Ads are usually based on your web viewing. The website doesn't specifically choose what it wants to advertise, they just sign a contract with a advertiser, who provides all the ads. I think the only input you get is if you want SFW or NSFW advertisements (not 100% sure though).

Never comes up with an ODST advertisement for me, it's always LOTR online and I don't even play MMOs. Must be done by country or something.

Agree with you 100%, even with the title. The gunplay in KZ2 is really intense, the AI is spectacular and unparalleled. Other FPS can be fun or have imaginative puzzles, levels but I doubt there is one that beat KZ2 gunplay.

War.Perfected. I love the control feeling and the multiplayer is very competitive. This game will have long legs, its visuals are incredible so it will age very slowly.

KZ2 sets the standard for both graphics and intensity in FPS, and the AI really makes the campaign shine. I've played through the SP campaign no less than 11 times and i still find it fun :D

1.The adrenaline-pumping intensity
2.The photo-realistic gun models
3.Six Axis sniper precision aiming
4.The 'Weighty' feel
5.Awesome clan support

Mass Effect came out when there were far fewer 360s sold than there were PS3s sold when KZ2 came out. Also, FPSs sell much better than RPGs. And Mass Effect was not hyped to be the greatest game of all time, greatest graphics of all time, Halo-killer that had a huge budget and a 5 year development cycle like KZ2 was. THAT is why KZ2 flopped so massively. It would be like a Halo game not selling millions in one day.

careful there, i think u2 took the torch in terms of best graphical game. Not to say Kz2 isnt in the ballpark, cause it is, its just that U2 has vibrant colors whereas Kz2 has dark art. The dark art looks amazing though, its just different colors pop out more, thats y i was hoping for a Jungle map for Kz2 that would have look absolutely beautiful
