Review: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 | GamesAreEvil

GrE writes, "Let's talk a walk down memory lane. It is 1989 and the hot system on the market is the NES. It is a slightly cool day in Baltimore city as I wait outside for what is to be one of the biggest titles of the year. This is a time before you could pre-order a game, and just go get your copy when ever you have time. The doors open and forty five minutes later I am the proud owner of Ninja Gaiden.

It was a staple in the history of the series and in console gaming itself. It had cinematic cut scenes, the introduction of the shuriken and the magical abilities (ninpo) that later games would follow with..."

I wonder if it holds up to the 360 version of if it is another shameless rehash from Team Ninja

The 360 version wasn't really all that great, so...yeah, I don't think it matters either way.

I thought it was fine on 360, just not what was expected given the awesomeness of the original.

game is great and I'm kind of biased and could be the reason why I liked the PS3 version better.

Pros
- Enemies are way more manageable and thus made the camera seem less of a problem
- Also decreases the feeling of the game being cheap.
- Co-op, although a bit laggy it's still a lot of fun and it works very smoothly (or as smoothly as it can get) if you play with local players.
- New weapons
- New bosses
- New characters (this could be a con for some though lol)
- (Noticeably) Better graphics
- less glitches/bugs
- A LOT less frame rate issues
- Better controls for projectile weapons
- Unlimited ammo for projectile

Cons
- No blood
- Possibly too easy for the hardcore NG fans.
- No First person view
- A lot less auto-aim with projectiles (without aiming)
- No incendiary shuriken for Ryu in single-player
- Upgrading weapons is no longer based on money (can upgrade one weapon per BLUE-lighted shop)
- No test of valor

That is pretty much what I can remember. I probably missed a lot. Anyway, I personally had no true problems with the cons, mostly just on the upgrading weapons thing and I do miss the test of valor a bit but for what I get in return, I'll gladly make the trade.

It's an adequate game. Nothing new or crazy good, but imaginative.

This game has a lot of new features and is really fun to play. But trying to understand this story is like trying to understand why the new Indiana jones movie was raped.

HD, all I know about is some Archfiend being released and some other demons are loose, lol.

I hope they do something with the storyline if they make a NG3. I like Sigma 2 though. It's still a very good game.

you're pushing it Tenzin. it was funny as hell the first few times, but now you're running that joke to the dirt like seth mcfarlane with family guy and their flashbacks.
