The game has no Quick Time Events (QTE) period. The game has real time gaming and cut scenes that is it. This Dumb asssa is just trying to get hits by giving miss information.

To give a game this great a one word review that doesn't even really have the smallest thing to do with the game just seems disrespectful to everyone, the developer and consumers.

Edit: There is some QTE when fighting bosses and some enemies toward the end of the game but there mixed in with the shooting and fighting and only happen when pinned to the ground. I wouldn't consider them to be QTE in the strictest sense and they aren't at the beginning of the game.

I agree that it is the best PS3 exclusive ever, but I can think of a lot of games that are better than Infamous.

That game was overhyped to the extreme.

First off, QTE is an abbreviation of three words, secondly, there's what, three, maybe four QTEs in the game.

Uncharted 2's biggest flaw is that it includes QTE but they are the BEST QTE's EVER.

Used correctly QTEs can be great, they basically make what would have been minor cut scenes, interactive. Sure they've been used poorly in several games, but that doesnt mean they should be written off.

Take God of War, the subtle QTEs allow you to feel like you've pulled off a move that traditionally wouldnt be possible with the set command lists.

Heavy rain is another title that shows their potential if used correctly to enhance the situation.

2.3 - Agreed
God of War and Heavy Rain (from what I've seen) do QTE perfectly. But games that throw in unnecessary QTE just don't work, and you can tell when they don't. QTE are supposed to make the whole experience more immersive with more interaction, it's not a let's-throw-it-in-there-just-b ecause thing. A lot of games get flack about that (like Ninja Blade).

And from my knowledge, Uncharted 2 barely had any QTE. The only ones that I can think of off the top of my head was when you finish off an enemy with a melee attack at a certain part in the game and another part which I won't tell because it's a spoiler (if you finished the game, you know). That's it. Drake's Fortune had more than that.

i think you guys are misinterpreting what he's saying. i think he's saying its a QTE because the game is so interactive that it feels like you're playing a movie.

like imagine the Leon vs Krauser scene in RE4. but now imagine actually playing that exact cutscene with real controls instead of button prompts. I think he's saying that's how awesome U2 is.

2.5 - ^^^Well he should have specified that^^^
instead of going for a "world record". If you're gonna make a review, take the time to elaborate on your opinion. It's a review, not a comment. They're supposed to inform people about the aspects of the game, not to give a vivid abbreviation of something that the audience will take as "it has lots of QTE".

2.6 - Quick time events?
These were rare in Uncharted 2. About 99.99% of the action was dealt with with full control of Drake.

This includes being inside a collapsing building, being in mutiple firefights on a speeding train, in a village being torn to pieces by an army with a tank, running from a truck that's chasing you down a small alley, taking down a helicopter from a rooftop, escaping from a pursuing helicopter while on a speeding train that is blowing the train apart carriage by carriage, taking down that helicopter using an Anti-Air gun while on the speeding train, a short firefight while on a huge piece of a buliding as is slides down a mountain and leaping from moving vehicles onto other moving vehicles in a firefight which leads you to a mounted grenade launcher to take out jeeps.

All of these EPIC moments you have full control of Drake.

Which means my one word review of Uncharted 2 is: EPIC

If I missed any epic moments please tell me.

2.7 - @maltez
The game in and of itself is an epic moment. There isn't a single part that didn't amaze me. Hell, the scene where he's walking through the Tibetan village was epic! Everything felt so alive, and you could interact with the kids. Now THAT is an example of an outstanding game, where a simple scene like that is given that much detail. And that's not even an action part...

2.8 - @foxtheory
Totally agree with you. The game is an experience like no other, and never stops being awesome. But there are some parts that manage to stand out as EPIC, not just from this game, but are EPIC compared to any other game ever made.

Add these epic moments into the best shooter gameplay with great platforming and fighting (the same gameplay from Uncharted 1) and you get an unbeatable game.

I'd love to see the game that tops this. Hopefully Call of Duty is good but I doubt it can beat this.

Foxtheory I know exactly what you mean. I was extremely impressed walking around that village being able to walk up to villagers and shake their hands. Pet Yaks even attemp to lift ones tail. Such detail. Also getting into the pool on top of the Shambhala Hotel is hilarious

2.10 - I wish more games would have that much interaction
One game that I would LOVE to see do something like that is Assassin's Creed. Don't get me wrong, AC is a great game. But imagine it with that much depth and interaction. It would be hard to do in an open world, but hey! I'm just dreaming.

If Uncharted 2 was that epic, then I wonder what Uncharted 3 will be like!?!

a qte is usally a random action button done at a point it unexpected

uc2 are promts because they dont change

to ovoid a preticular attack its triangle square
however that corasonds to counter mellee wo its not a qte

because of the cutscenes fluidness grom game to cutscene to game it needs promts to tell players oh your in controll again

article = fail

There is no QTE. He probably seen clips of the game and thought, "Hey, another great looking game! Gameplay couldn't have this kind of graphic on the 360, so definitely not PS3. I know, its QTE!"

Well, they really screwed their Heavy Rain review now didn't they? Apart from that it's the worst aimed critique in the history of gaming, imo.

"It's funny because it's (not) true!", I guess? I suppose he's meaning the fighting QTE's(like on the train boss)but there really isn't as many in this game as most these days AND they're really well done. F'rinstance the afore mentioned train boss fight isn't even a fully scripted QTE. If you just follow the promopts you would never beat the guy and have to know to press square again after the triangle counter. It's a game which makes better use of it's very few QTE's becuase of leaving bits out and leaving them to a players brain and a players own timing-it manages to evolve the QTE, imo, and in doing so sparingly anyway adds to the success of the game.

But enough of this. Yes, it's fine to have a giigle at the expense of U2 as uit's not gonna hurt a well loved game like this anyway but next time at least make it both relevant and slightly funny.

The only QTEs I remember were the counters during some stronger enemy fights. And a couple to activate a switch or something or help some one up. But there really wasn't any actual QTE. Everything in this game in realtime and you weren't sitting back watching a movie while you press buttons. I prefer it when there are minor QTEs, like arkham had. I don't like to trigger the next scene by just walking up to the door. A small button press let's you sry in the area with out missing anything.

WET is QTE. Two Ending Boss Fights summed up in a 3minute movie of a total 5 or 6 button presses.

Uncharted 2 is the greatest game since Uncharted 3!

What???? I'm probably nearing the end of the game now and haven't seen a single QTE. They also say that the first game didn't have quick time events?? The first game had three or four quick time events that gave you an irritatingly short amount of time to press the button. In fact I was just thinking while playing the game last night how good it was that I hadn't run into any of those.

14 - Interactive Film
Whether Uncharted 2 is a QTE or not, I think there should be a new genre called Interactive Films, for these kind of games. I think Uncharted 1 had too much in it to be called a interactive film, but who knows, maybe heavy rain can be, or that flower game.

Flower is more of an epic poetic painting, telling the story of a war against mankinds evil ways and the salvation of the world, but with a flight controlled music driven element, inspired in dreams and carried on hope.

God Flower was brilliant! Best DLC Game of 2009

was when there needed to be. It wasn't overwhelming, nor was it lacking in QTE. Hell, it even replaced some QTE with aiming/gunfire, which worked out perfectly.

23 - there are definitely a few QTE-esque segments in U2
but because there are so few, it doesn't sum up the game.

some better, closer to what the game is words could be:

"Shooter"
"Platformer"
"Awesome"
"Evolutionary"
"Cinematic"
"Stunning"
"Beautiful"
"Endearing"
"Engrossing"

any of those words would adequately express what U2 is.

considering that there are only a handful of QTE-esque segments (a QTE seems to be defined by a sequence of buttons that must be pressed in order to accomplish a task, but Uncharted 2's button presses are in no sequence. in fact, it is usually just one button you press multiple times), and yet there is a TON of shooting, platforming, and stunning visuals, QTE just isn't the appropriate word.

it's kind of silly. he's clearly trying to drive hits, but he certainly hasn't gotten one from me.

I do like the concept, but surely they could have done better than "QTE". The ratio of QTE to direct movement/action in UC2 isn't high enough for that summation.
