RUMOR: PlayStation 3 to see Oddworld: Munch's Odyssey, Stranger's Wrath and possible Abe remakes.

[RUMOR] Lorne Lanning speaks to the PlayStation Blog community and fuels speculation that PS3 could see releases of Munch's Odyssey, Stranger's Wrath, and possibly 3D remakes of Abe's original adventures.

What about Munch's Odyssey and Stranger's Wrath?

We're working on a strategy to bring them over as well. May take us awhile, but we hope to achieve what you're asking for."

We've talked about it and would like to do it. We have seriously considered using the Stranger engine to do just this. Some work being done on the tech now. Will see how it goes, but will have to come after our current project."

3 - Actually...
http://www.joystiq.com/2009...
reported it first.

Anyway, great to see those games again and now it's on PSN, but I'm more excited about Munch's Odyssey and Stranger's Wrath, never had an Xbox, so I did not get to play those(Hopefully they'll port it on PSN).

3.1 - Actually...
...they're only reporting on the PSN releases of the first two Oddworld titles and the PC collection, they aren't discussing anything regarding Lorne's above comments (the focus of this story).

Plenty of people are reporting on the PSN releases of the original PSone classic, the PC release...and that's about it. Apparently they aren't reading through the comments to see what questions are being asked, and how Lorner is answering them, but it seems rather clear that he's not only looking at the possibilities of bringing Munch and Stranger to the platform, but also remaking the original using a new engine.

Wow, that was fast. On Wikipedia they have PSN listed under Platforms for Strangers Wrath. 0.o?

4.1 - I saw that too!
Too soon? Well the words came directly from Mr.Lanning himself so we can only hope there's some credence to his statements. I'd be a happy gamer if the series were to see new life on a platform that would make them shine.

Well that would be cool if true. The Oddworld game are great games and if this allows more people to play them then that is great news. So I hope the Oddworld series does come out on PSN.
