I played that 256 domination, too. Man, crazy, but intense. A lot going on. Too much for my old brain. Still a lot of fun. I am in for the distraction because I don't live long enough for a mission goal...

There are respawns, what makes you think there are none ? And its worth it. Its a great game. I said it before, it is kind a CoD on steroids (for me).

Played the BETA for 1 hour there are respawns but its not like COD on steroids more like SOCOM feel but with mass players. No temp 5 second invincibility soon as you spawn so you can be killed soon as you spawn (happened to me 3 times in a row) so people camp spawn points. Honestly its not the best FPS out there and I totally prefer Uncharted 2 BETA right now and would recommend over it. Don't pay for this BETA whatever you do. Not to mention it can take upto 30 minutes sometimes to get into a match!

Maybe its an FPS with a Socom feel, but its definitively no Socom. Just the amount of players makes this impossible. Its a run and gun game, more then any other, with tactical objectives (no death match - so far). I'm not even sure if there is any other PS3 FPS shooter which is close to this (?).

TBH, I find myself playing MAG much more the UC2. I think UC2 beta is very unbalanced. You shoot a guy in the head 5000 times, and even if he fires the shot 2 seconds later, you are dead. Usually the matchmaking throws you in with way to overpowered peers. No fun for me.

i don't agree with vhero at all. i like the uncharted 2 beta a lot, but i think mag is leagues ahead of the uncharted 2 beta. it might turn you off at first because the game sometimes feels cheap but once you start understanding the game and know what to do, it's a blast. i used to hate attacking on acquisition but once i started understanding the game more, it has became a very addicting mode for me now. i only played 3-4 matches on domination, in which my first match ever was 2 weeks ago where i had no clue what was going on, 2 matches as raven last night (won as an OIC for the first time), and defected to sver for one match since a bug pissed me off from playing as raven (it wouldn't allow me to use any of the items i bought in the respec option.)

anyhow, the game has a lot of depth even when all you do is run n gun. i will say that the game is not as fun for me personally if i'm not at least a squad leader, but the gameplay is solid and enjoyable. now they just need more weapons and where the hell is the shotgun!?!?

EDIT: you were getting angry about the spawn killing? simple solution, stop spawning in that area. i'm guessing you keep spawning on the bunkers, but sometimes it's best just to wait inside of it or just go to a different spawn position to flank them. if anything, its a smart tactical maneuver and should be a blessing for the attackers because it's a pain in the ass dealing with bunkers. you have to set the charges towards the direction of the enemy, it only takes 3 seconds to defuse the C4, and you're vulnerable to attack from behind while setting the charges.

also, if you have a mic, get a platoon leader to set a gas bombardment near the enemies spawn area or even an air strike from a squad leader. the game is balanced if you use your weapons right and not think with a one-track mind strategy. if APC's are rolling up towards your gate, get someone with anti-tank mines and set them up. the game isn't set up to be impossible, just requires a little skill and thought.

The only way to get in now....at least from what I understand...is in-store promotions only. That will be the third phase and as of now the only place I know of is the pre-order from GameStop.
