50 GB bluray HD remaster! the last 2 in HD 720p
Release them test out the waters!!!
Then make the 3rd one on 50GB bluray.
(but this time put ryu in the secret service or something stealthy with weapons and martial arts-MGS style and you have a massive hit!!

No more BS qte OR BRAWLS Im talking about stealth kills and just massive battles 1000 NPC and enemy battles like Heavenly sword!!!

Sad that Suzuki san is retired and of course is probably not excited about learning PS3 ASMP Cell RSX language.
He made the dreamcast and the Saturn Hummmmmmm like a bird and crunch like a bull.!!

if it came to either one i would get it. i have the original for the US dc as well as imported the EU part 2 and have the US part 2 for xbox. A part 3 is needed...badly! No matter the system I will be picking it up. Please SEGA!!!

PS3 exclusive with every single piece of ShenMue from 1-3 on 1 BluRay disc that'd be my dream.

A multiplatform release is a must though. The demand is there, the technology has advanced, many other games have made money back on greater budgets.

They can do it but Sega aren't a big budget developer. At their heart they are still an arcade game developer going back to their biggest commercial failure would be a big ask.

This and FF7 (remade) would break records if ever realised.

Financially Shenmue "failed" everywhere, it may have broke even or just about, it's kinda why Yu Suzuki had to scale his vision of the game back, cancel the MMO, and receive a demotion at Sega recently.

Well I wouldn't say Suzuki is gone from Sega he just has a much much much smaller role being the leader of a single R&D Department AM Plus, which so far it seems they just focus on Japanese Arcade games such as Sega Race TV which was released 2008.

True, but he definietly doesn't have the push he used to have at Sega that he used it. I'm a bit worried, it seems like Sega might crap out a Shenmue 3 to cash in on the niche fanbase, they did recently with Golden Axe, NIGHTs, etc.
