They were talking about what kinds of obstacles one is capable of building. It sounds like as you play the game your granted more intricate ways of modifying things. Well, that's how it sounded to me anyway.

Some of the most photorealistic, CG-like and beautiful
visuals aside, something much more impressive that is clear from
the first presentation was that the game is fully and truly
physics based:

"PHYSICS":
-When you make a character, just joining a head, a torse and 2 arms
and legs enable ragdoll...COOL!!!

-The game fully features material physics, lighting and element
characteristics. If you make a cube of stone it will have weight,
but if you make it of wood or sponge or foam, it will have
change in force and weight accordingly...AWESOME!!!

-Physics rule all of the nuances...hence its a fully realized physical
'planet'...from cloth dynamics to rope physics, everything is
tangible. Just look at the start of the video when a character touches
a flower, it realistly bends, rotates around its stem's axis
and sways much like it was in Okami !

"GAMEPLAY POSSIBILITIES":
Make anything you like, make your own:

-Mario Game(Photorealistic and physics based, A nightmare for Nintendo)
-Sonic Game
-Zelda Game(Another nightmare for Nintendo)
-A Prince of Persia game !
-Cell-phone like Splinter Cell title.
-Street Fighter fighting game.
-Mortal Kombat with Living Forest(Wow!!!)
-Ratchet & Clank game.
-An entirely new and original game with totally your own characters,
concepts, story and environments...Cheeeks Booom !!!

"SUPPORT":
What we are looking at here is a possibility of a Blu-Ray literally
'filled' with pre-made developer content. With background themes
(Backyard, Laboratory, Junkyard etc.), objects, characters, sounds,
and gameplay modules...but the ultimate breakthrough is going to be
the online sharing feature, you are going to have a heavenly load of
user-made content to add upto and all of this is what makes this game one of the first truly realized next-gen title and a total
killer-app for the PS3 !!!
