YourEMGN: Gran Turismo 5 | Preview

For the first time in the main series, an online mode will be available in the game, with 16 player capability. Also included for the first time will be damage modeling. Dynamic weather changes and night racing have also been hinted at, but have yet to be officially confirmed. WRC and NASCAR will also be featured for the first time in the Gran Turismo franchise.

GT5 in one word is AMAZING. The graphics at a first look are very realistic, you may be mistaken for it as real. People are going to be buying a PlayStation 3 just to play GT5. Definitely in the list of one of the most anticipated and most discussed games.

I love GranTurismo, but I do not get it with what's printed saying roughly only around 170 cars of the 1,000 will have damage-mode and that this aspect of the game has not been finalized by Mr. Yamauchi-san why?, does this mean they're still trying to perfect damage-mode which might be an on-going process of downloadable updates for the game? can someone please elaborate more on this issue...

When you say "better gameplay", to what aspects are you referring to?

I'm just asking to try to understand the mind of a bot because I just don't see how can Forza have better gameplay than GT when Forza 2 was arcadish and running at 30 frames per second.

Forza 3 will be 60 frames per second but, he hasn't played it yet while we have already played Gran Turismo 5 in the form of "Prologue" running at 60 frames per second, 1080p and the realistic gameplay we're used to. And to make things even worse for Forza 3 I saw a video of a Bugatti Veyron reaching 100MPH in less than 2 seconds, something that it's completely impossible.

Agreed, GT5 is definitely the most realistic racing game I've ever seen and one of the most realistic PS3 games of all time. In a racing game, the graphics are usually the key aspect to measuring the enjoyment of the gameplay and GT5 is the top of it's class.

Not necessarily, Madusha. The graphics, in some cases, may be amazing and the gameplay might be really bad. For example, if GT5 only had 10 cars and 10 tracks, no one would buy it. The gameplay depends on the features of the game in which GT5 excels with 1000 cars and the most realistic graphics of 2009 - IMO
