Rockstar insists L.A. Noire is still in development

Nick @ PS3Center writes:

Rockstar held a presentation behind closed doors at the GamesCom convention at Cologne last week. The main focus was their titles planned for fiscal 2009, including The Ballad of Gay Tony, GTA: Chinatown Wars PSP, and Red Dead Redemption, which are under embargo until September 22.

However, they did mention L.A. Noire, specifically reinforcing that the title was still under development.

If Rockstar actually showed something substantial for this game interest wouldn't be waning. Instead they are working on pointless DLC for one of their most mediocre games. Seriously please give up on that crap and start working on other games!

They have a deal with Microsoft, they can't just give up! :P

Although, yes, I would like it if they started concentrating on other, newer projects.

Maybe it's one of those games where they announce that it's finished/show trailers/info just before its release date...

Maybe Sony are trying to make up for all those software/hardware delays that have been happening in the past?

I am definitely interested to know more about the game. The trailer looks really good. Hopefully its looks haven't changed much since that trailer was shown back in 2006

What do you mean "incoming" as far as I'm able to tell this was NEVER actually said by anyone official to be exclusive in any case. In fact the only time R* answered the question directly they said it was a multi and that was last year IIRC.

Even before that it wasn't everyone who agreed it was a PS3 exclusive anyway as the evidence never really stacked up to say it was. A lot of PS3 only sites seemed to have the opinion that it was an exclusive but many also just said it had only been announced for PS3 so far or didn't know intil they came out with the statement saying it was multi plat.

Right now, though, the only difference between it being multi or exclusive is how many gamers get bored waiting for it!

"360 version incoming"

i really don't think so
because up tell now they said PS3 only and in development for other platforms
in this case its a big chance to be a PS3/PC game

or else they'll announce its on the 360 along with the PS3 at the same time

@mastiffchild
the only official announcement was only for the PS3
"L.A. Noire has only been officially announced for the Playstation 3"

It has only ever been announced for PS3 but Bondi's website states its in development for 'next generation consoles' which is why many believe a 360 version is in the works. At the moment though, we just don't know.

5 - I always assumed
LA Noir turned into 'Agent'
They were both gritty period things that were Rockstar PS3 Exclusives.

I guess not.

Game development takes so long now. That is why I think this generation of consoles should stick around for a long time. We still have a lot of great games ahead of us. No need to rush into the next gen,
