APB Developers Open To PlayStation 3 Version

There has been much speculation about All Points Bulletin recently, specifically revolving around the Xbox 360 version of the game. However, we managed to get an answer from Realtime Worlds regarding the state of the Xbox 360 version.

The current situation with the Xbox 360 wasn't the only piece of information extracted though, as it appears that Realtime Worlds have completely free licence to release APB on any system they choose.

At the very least they could do a 360 version. A PS3 version might end up being a charity case.

I don't like that. By "that" I mean tacking on a port in the middle of development. Usually doesn't end up so well.

I'd rather a developer be up front and say, "We're making our game on 360/PS3/PC" so we know it's part of their project from the beginning.

They've been in talks bringing this to the PS3 for some time now, just about as long as we've known it wasn't coming to the 360. To be honest, I think the reason its not on the 360 is because it seems like they aren't very serious about bringing MMO's to their console. I know they have that FF mmo, but its not a pay to play structure like APB, not to mention, they already charge for XBL, so there is a lot of red tape there.

"I know they have that FF mmo, but its not a pay to play structure like APB,"

yes it is

ffxi is a true mmo, down to the subscription details and all. As far I can recall I remember a few people saying that ffxi requires only a silver membership. I don't have a 360 but I believe that the silver membership is free?

1.7 - Let teh bidding war start
"Everything is open to us, we aren't tied in to Microsoft, Sony or anyone. Once the PC version is out there and hopefully it's a big success, we'll see what offers are around."

man this is the face of game development now I blame it on m$ honestly.

also a tip for the devs at least pretend like u care more about us having fun playing your game than money...

edit even better go multiplat with it you'll prob make more than youd get off the bribe... (I'm sure you'd also get some solid internal support from both of em if you'd contact em to say you wanted to bring em your game) ~if it turns out to b good anyways...

I've never heard of this game. Don't own a 360 and I'm not a pc gamer so i wont even look it up unless they do make a ps3 version.

Kind of old news.. both apb and champions online developers said they would be open to ps3 versions once they finished their pc versions an how far along they got with the 360 version.

That's partially true. Realtime Worlds previously just said the game could run on the PS3, they never said they would actually consider doing it.

lol the game consist of 100 players in one match you could say.. hmm.. whose to say with all those players and 360 having P2P servers we wont see a mass epidemic of lag when, when your playing a game like Gears on Xbox Live with ONLY 5 on 5 action you still experience lag lol..... as for the PS3 version we already have 126 players running on the MAG beta I believe and thats not even everybody its suppose to cap at 256 lol and you've already seen the success of 60 players online on Resistance 2 and 64 player clan matches on Killzone 2..... This is doomed to fail when 360 cant even handle 5 on 5 matches and their only game that has capped at more then 20+ players is a multiplatform title on PS3 as well called Battlefield Bad Company lol....

Someone remind me how many PS3 exclusives Sony lost. Not PS2 franchises, but PS3 exclusives.

Since this is a MMO I wonder how hard it would be to try to have both 360 owners and ps3 owners playing on the same servers. Can you imagine the gangwars????

Microsoft only allow servers on xbox live that are certified by them, so i doubt it would ever happen.

But technically, yeah - its possible. :p
