This Sony fanboy gives the overall win to Forza 2.

I gave up on the franchise after GT2 due to no realistic damage - switched to Colin McCrae Rally & TOCA for a more real driving experience.

Remember - GT is up to version 5 while Forza is only version 2. GT5 better have realistic damage or else it's going to get pawned - however good it looks.

I do remember you POG...the very guy POG saying...don't even talk about that "ps2ish demo". "it's just a demo...Forza2 blows it out of the water". "PS2ish"...yet now you're calling it a "high-res finished game" hmmm...contradictory much?

Is picture number 2 meant to be GTHD? That isn't the concept GTHD...as the game only includes one level...the level that they released...the level of the mountain. That's the only one POG...so showing that, of course it isn't.

But still is it a fair fight...a ps2ish demo...against a full fledged game?

Dude you dont even compare the games in question. You just say Xbox is better than PS3. They're BOTH better than GT are they? So fanboy.

Interesting side note, the other day when they had the GT vs Life shots I actually had them round the other way. I thought the GT shots were the real shots and vice versa. I'm such a dumbarse.

P.O.G... Being a 360 fan, I don't expect you to know that GTHD has something in the title after High Definition... And that's CONCEPT, as in NOT a finished game. It is just to give an idea of the 1080p 60fps goodness that Gran Turismo 5 will be.

I can't wait to see what the final product will be like. The GTHD Concept is pretty damn impressive, and that came out shortly after launch. Gran Turismo 5 is still at least a good six months away, and I can't wait to see what kind of magic Polyphony Digital can come up with in that timeframe!

Yeah I'm looking forward to PGR4 actually. I typically don't like racing games but it's maybe the best arcade series for racing. Looks good visually too.

Still very impressed with GTHD. Forza looks good too, but the other 2 games interest me more, personally.

They are of replay/photo mode for GTHD. Meaning that there is more motion blur and 4xAA added.

Forza2 replay mode adds 4xaa (it's 2xaa at 720p the rest of the time)

don't get me wrong. I'm not saying for a minute that car model damage isn't an added feature that isn't "cool" or an added "bonus". Let's face it - there are a lot of people out there that are just no good at racing at ALL and crashing is there next big hard - on.

Even the crashing in F2 is not real time / space damage with algorithms for different speed / placement impacts. In other words the damage is canned and not fluid throughout the game with millions of rendering possibilities blade. That's why my man Yamauchi has a heart attack just thinking about it, because the man hours - time factor involved in getting it RIGHT (which Thank God is the way they do it @ Polyphony) is mindblowing. I'm not sure if they will have it in 5. Yes it would be a nice touch. But it's not like I'm going to say - "damn" they have real crash rendering and real time damage constatntly going on in F2 and I shouldn't be playing this GT5." That's not going to happen. I'll play GT as I have since the 'ol P1 days and will demo F2 on my cousin's 360. That's what I'm gonna do.

F2 is a good game that has a good following. There is no denying that. It's just the Indinapolis Colts (right now) - Whereas GT is the NE Patriots, 49ers, Steelers, Cowboys, Raiders right now. Get it?

And yes blade hitting a wall:

...at that speed would cause considerable if not catastrophic damage to the car and driver. We all know this in the real world of common sense. However, I don't think that the teams and manufacturers that I mentioned above are really looking for feedback from that part of the equation. These people are performance based and lap time killers. Not the NTSB. Leave the 5 star safety and crash ratings to Grand Caravans, Sedans, and hybrids -- I could care less. When I'm in my vintage sportscar or Le Mans Super car - I could care less. It's a game. If Yamauchi puts it in -- fine. If he leave it out -- fine (with me).

I just think that the way this guy (Kaz) and his team are obsessed with the smallest detail - if they applied their cursory pressure to car and track detail -to that of say "car crashes" - then hell we might not even play the game because blown tires from overspin, bent rims, blown motors from over revving, cracked axles, broken diffusers, and tranny linkage problems -- would cause the majority of people to put down the controller and walk away exclaiming, "this game is way too damn hard and realistic-- it's too real!"

You know I love real flight sims. Flying is a basic part of my life. But most people that turn one on at my house stare at the screen for 2 to three minutes and then walk away. Why? Because they're overwhwelmed from options and scenarios based on real life simulations and they hate it. They just want to "fly" lol.

Just my thoughts blade and some I've gotten from reading Kaz's book: GT4 - Driving the Game. You should check it out. Great read. Cheers.

top selling franchise? because thats what it was, not the first game. and yes GT has always had the most realistic phsyics and the graphics have always pushed it to the limits. and just to be clear, car damage doesent effect the realism of physics on a game, it just makes the car look diffrent.

but anyway, i would say GT comes first, then PGR and then forza, based on these screen shots atleast, maybe forza will beat out PGR and i doubt either will beat out the king, GT.

This is just a tech demo, 1 car, 1 stage, 1 layer of graphics on the car model, 1 source of lighting, no motion blur on the wheels, and since it is the replay mode, the game is going to look better than an in-game screenshot. GT prized itself on the replays, and you can see it in gt4 that the replays look better than in game. So these comparisons are stupid. Not only that, but the smoke doesn't even look real. it looks like mist. And on a previous comparison to real world shots, the gt pics looked dark and lifeless. The real world pics colors were more vibrant, so all those that keep saying that forza looks to bright or like plastic, maybe cars at this modded level are made of fiberglass plastic and carbon fiber. For all the know how of you so called sim racer gamers, you sure don't show it when looking at cars. The real world pics have more color, which has been sony's problem. I will agree though, gt has a much better replay system than forza, and that's been since forza 1. But when it comes to gameplay, forza can't be beat. And until gt lets us know how it's gonna play, shouldn't you reserve your comments for that time, because just because a game looks pretty doesn't mean it plays great.

Oh and what's the point of releasing this replay, they should be working on the game and giving some information towards gt5, i think people are tired of waiting for some info. Let's see real game media bits.

I think we can all agree on that one.
