Eternal Sonata is an outstanding game. I'll admit a lot of people will rag on this game but it was right up my alley and I enjoyed it a lot. The combination of real-time strategy mixed with turn based style fighting was brilliant.

4.2 - hi, im one of the people that will rag on it.
I thought the game sucked. The game looked good, but everything else was just ehh. The story was soooo preachy and longwinded. The battle system was of except I couldnt see the whole field and yest I know you can change the camera angle, but that still took seconds away from me in a system that uses seconds, they could have pulled it back for me, or thought of putting the characters closer. The leveling system also punishes you for leveling up the characters. everytime you get up you have less time and then you have to play a game with the specials to get them to go off. I could say more but I wont.

Oh I am looking forward to WKC and DS as well as FFXIII and vs. I love rpgs.

is it me or does the main hero in WKC look like alfred e newman

5.2 - They are probably aiming it at the Mass Effect 2 release.
I makes sense to have the game release around the time Mass Effect comes out to try and give it some competition.

6 - This game looks amazing and I'm buying it Day 1
but i'm still pretty pissed that it took them more than a year to bring it over. I know they are adding voice-chat too, but 1 full year(+3mths) ?!!! That has got to be a new record. If there weren't so many great exclusives releasing this fall i would have been even more pissed

Screens...The game has been out for ages in Japan, go watch a video.

I hope they bring voice support to WKC, if not then I will get around it by having the 360 going at the same time, in a party chat. ;)

So you're going to turn your PS3 on to play the game and talk to your buddies on a 360?

I hate to see your power bill.

Well if they don't add voice support with WKC, what other option will I have? I'm certainly not going to type to chat, things should have moved past PSO.

You COULD talk on a telephone...

7.5 - @ Family Guy
Talking to 3 other people in various States (in Aus) would cost about $50 an hour... I still think my 360 workaround will be the cheapest and most practical solution.

2008? It is funny how these screens came fresh out of Comic-Con a day or two ago yet they are from 2008.

Hmm main character looks stupid, wish JRPGS would do what most western RPGS do and let you customize your main character because so many JRPG characters look lame. But hey should be a fun game.

Do you know anything about the game? You can't edit the main character but the side kick is you and you can customize the hell out of the side kick. When you play online, you play as the sidekick.

Anyway, the main character look badass when he's the white knight.

11 - i really enjoyed the Japanese version,
but i stopped playing it because it was starting to get complex in gameplay mechanics, and i was tired of using a guide to play it. lol.

i really liked the battle system, visuals, and character customization.

i can't say much about the story, but the cutscenes were really nice.

14 - I'm an RPG fan
But not a blind Sony fanboy. Look, we know this game has been out since holiday 2008 in Japan. Screens don't cut it. The vids from overseas make this look like FFXII and the reviews rip it for a bad story, inconsistent online, crumby number balance and pacing. 29/40 from famitsu, 7/10 from RPGfan...straight up, Level 5 and Sony have work to do. This is no masterpiece yet, that delay better include a good amount of fixes for audiences outside of casual-gamer Japan.

14.1 - well, i've actually played the Japanese version of the game,
and it's very, very good. better than Rogue Galaxy, which i absolutely loved.

a game doesn't need to be a masterpiece to be a good game.

i'd hardly call Crackdown a masterpiece, but it was good.

i wouldn't say Folklore was setting the industry on fire, but it was a good game.

White Knight Chronicles does a LOT of things right for JRPGs, and it also pushes things forward as well (great character creation system, refreshing battle system, online, customizable combos).

a masterpiece? i'll wait for the English version, but as far as an enjoyable, fun JRPG, it's a hoot.

it's like a mix between Final Fantasy XII and Rogue Galaxy, and that's not a bad combination to have
