IGN: Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 Compared

pandomobile... your full of crap... its not only the same half life 2 engine... with the same code... its also the same gameplay code from physics to move ment.... to weapons... all based off the same stuff... left 4 dead is like 20 -30 percent more then hl2 id say... given an EDUCATED guess. ... sorry i posted this under the wrong person reply...

They forgot to add:
Left4Dead: 5-years-old engine.
Left4Dead 2: the same 5-years-old engine.

And that's the main reason whiners complained about Left4Dead not being a sequel, Valve didn't even make the effort to evolve just a bit. You still have the feeling to play Half-Life 2, Source Engine is seriously getting old.

The L4D Source engine is completely different than what we got in HL2.

95% of the code has been re-done to keep up with modern systems.

Ah whats the problem about the same feeling as Half Life 2? its great game and i love it, i wouldnt mind the same feeling, but i do agree they need to go a different route with the graphics even TF2 direction would be awesome.

And pathway changes depending on how good/bad your playing.
Weapon/health upgrades for those who go a longer/more dangerous route
And I think random weather changes too?
Finales involve getting from A to B rather than finding a defensive spotnd waiting out a rescue vessel.
Triggers that require some sort of action by you before the hoarde ceases.
They are also going more for a actual storyline this time.

Why cant he play it????, i mean even if he doesnt have an xbox, he still have a pc and as far as i know this game doesnt ask for a hi spec pc.

As long as he have the money he could play this game.

7 - all that stuff sounds like it could be added through DLC
L4D2 might end up being a completely different game once you play it, but this t-chart makes it sound like only new maps, skins, enemies, weapons, and modes and that's about it. as for the AI, i guess that would require alterations to a game engine but i don't see this sequel being too much different from the first.

and before people start saying that i'm butthurt because it's not coming to the ps3 (which couldn't be further from the truth cuz i could easily run L4D on my pc), there has been plenty of games in the past where the sequels are pretty much virtually the same. don't be surprised if L4D2 ends up being that way.

I think most people do.
Im betting your planning on buying GOW3. At a basic level,is it not similar to the previous one? Graphics aside of course?

believe it or not, i'm not buying GOW3. i absolutely love the GOW series, but for me the replayability goes down after a few playthroughs. the game is meant for a single player extravaganza so i'm just going to rent it. i would rather buy games that i know i will be playing non stop rather than a game i will play for a good short while and then it collects dust. MGS4 is one of very few games where i can play the single player a lot but even then i crave for online gameplay and i don't know if GOW3 is going to have it.
