Sales for consoles are too low. Even the wii isn't selling well and I'm surprised to see just a 5000 difference between PS3 and Xbox 360. With the release of FF XIII, DQ X, and MH3 sales for the PS3 and Wii should be better later this year.

The latest numbers out of Japan show that the PS3 continues to be dominated by the Wii. Analysts think that this trend will continue. A price cut has to be in the cards or the PS3 as it struggles to continue to be relevant in its home land.

Wii has outsold the PS3 in the last 3 to 4 months and its momentum continues. Sony needs some solid titles to stop its failing trend. Few analysts believe that the PS3 will see a recovery in this generation.

The PS3 is essentially a dead console.

In NA and UK the 360 is beating the ps3 pretty easily. The rest of the world looks to be neck to neck. This is Sony's land and the ps3 should be beating the 360 by a large margin but it's not. Worldwide sales go to the 360 and have been for awhile.

the 360 is doing well now in japan and the ps3 slight resurgence is over with it back to 10 thousand wkly.i do not think japan is that important now with regards the console wars as the u.uk. is a bigger market and one in which ms lead by a few million cancelling out sonys lead in its home country.

UK is not the entire Europe, PS3 and 360 are having a very close fight when it comes to EU, in NA its a different story for the 360 is undoubtedly doing better than the 360 there.

HW sales down ,it's not that bad for a recession though.

DQ IX out soon, expect to see some higher than normal DS HW sales.

Nothing coming for PS3 & 360 for now, so the HW sales will remain in +/- 5000 units.

Nothing new for PSP, HW sales will remain really same until Go is released.

Wii, the joker in the bunch. WSR is going to have tremendous legs. Wounder how Black wii MH3 bundle pushes HW.

I find it funny that Nintendo everything is the only place to get media create sales now. While back in the 6 week period where ps3 was number 1. the cursed numbers could be found everywhere and they were the most important numbers of all time to some people. They trumpeted the time when ps3 would dominate all over the world. Now... all media create sales give you is the rush of beating 360 even by a downright pathetic 5,000 units.

Man.. i'll say it again... Japan Numbers don't matter to anyone but japan. How about those DSi sales tho.. Bet america does those numbers in 8 hours.

oh stevie....Splinter cell isn't a "new ip" it came out on PS2 first....so shush you ignorant fanboy. Secondly Microsoft didn't make them. They payed for them to be on their system exclusively. The only games I give M$ credit for is Mass Affect, Crackdown, Gears, and Alanwake. Left 4 dead was created for comp first BY VALVE. Majority of microsoft "exclusives" come out for the PC and are way better on the PC anyway so really 360 phails.

Seriously everyone copies in the gaming market. Should we bash everyone for copying sony for using Disc games? Without sony you wouldn't have CD's or DVD's or Bluray. Should we bash everyone else for copying computers for having online play? Should we bash wii for using motion controls when sega had em for the dreamcast? should we bash every single console for copying the diamond shaped button layout? Seriously guys its disgusting.

Microsoft has to play hard this gen because they got raped so hard last gen.....seriously 140 mil lead to 24 mil.......Xbox got beat hard by ps2 no doubt so its totally plausible that they want to go hard now. There still licking their wounds from last gen.
