Burnout 5, main focus on PS3 version

The Criterion team said that the PS3 version will have 1080p, and the SIXAXIS controller will provide more control options that the 360 doesn't have. Imagine steering your crashed car with your SIXAXIS. Just thinking out loud.

Also the PS3's advanced processing capabilities are perfect for the many physics intensive crashes in Burnout 5. Both versions will feature camera support during game play.

Is using a AMD Athlon XP and everyone knows that the physics in Forza 2 will be way more intensive then they are in this game. Moving your dead car with SIXAXIS or just using a analog stick I think I'll go with the analog stick.

dj, first of all people without a PS3 can buy a 360 wheel which is infinitely better than any controller. The sixaxis and wiimote is actually a mimic of the arcade style driving.

Anyways, don't you have to buy another PS3 controller now that it'll have rumble. So that's 50 bucks for a standard function. Anyways Sony lied at E3 about why they didn't have it, saying something like it was last gen, and motion was this gen, also that they technically couldn't get the motion to work with the rumble. Which was quickly disproved by many people.

black moses, I NEVER said I expect people to pay that. Just that you guys will have to buy another 50 or 60$ controller to get rumble. My point was that the rumble/force feedback wheel was so much more realistic. Also I said nothing of forza or burnout 5.

unixbreaker, once again MS said you don't NEED IT but now it's AN OPTION. They had that in mind before the 360 launched because they built in a 1080p scaler. But they're correct in that you don't need it because HD can be achieved other ways. If you have a 1080p HDTV than I'm sure you can buy both the elite and ps3, money isn't an issue for the most part.

Atleast spell it right DJ. Why would I be jealous of a game coming to the Xbox 360 to? All i'm saying is that they are only talking this crap because they are biased to Sony and always have. Both versions of the games will probably be exactly the same except for the fact that the Xbox 360 version won't have SIXAXIS control. I very much doubt the developers of Burnout have used all the power either the PS3 or Xbox 360 can push out.

I already know you hate everything Playstation-related, so it's expected. "Analogue > Motion Sensitivity?" Who said the PS3 version won't be using both at the same time? It was actually the Forza comment that tipped me off since Forza 2's damage physics are laughable at best. Of course, you'll go with the "GT doesn't even have physics!", to which I'll respond "And they're not being laughed at for screwing that up since it doesn't exist yet. Better no damage than bad damage."

Criterion, if you really hardcore about how good PS3 is, make it a PS3 exclusive game. Dont go multi platform then say PS3 got the goods than the rest. Wanna play safe yet wanna to take side.

Despite the additional effort on PS3, Gamespot will still give XBOX 360 higher score. The reason will be.. "additional functionality spoiled the funs".

Not like I'd use the sixaxis anyways, I mean, it was sloppy for motorstorm and it'll probably be sloppy for this too, hopefully they have support for the 360 wheel.

May I also ask how sixaxis support means the ps3 is the focus? It just means it's getting a different feature. Like saying the Xbox360 version has extra achievements therefore it's the real focus.

The extra attention the PS3 is getting is to optimize for the motion sensing capabilities to be worked in.

I believe the PS3 may have some exclusive content as well, cars or a track or something, but that's just rumor.

I have little itnerest in motion control except for specific games. Burnout would not be one of those specific games.

As long as the game plays and looks good on the 360 I am happy. It doesnt bother one bit that also plays and looks good on the PS3. Some day I may own one of those.

This is nothing new. They said ages ago the PS3 was the primary developement platform. And I really don't think using the sixaxis would be good to steer your car wrekage, but let's see how they implement it.

As far as the Burnout series have gone, Citerion has always favoured the PS platforms, but it's still coming to 360, so I'm a happy man.

Since EA took it over it has been repetitive. I'll take DIRT and FORZA 2 any day . Maybe they should update their physics engine. There is not a lot going on in the physics department. The last few BOs were about the same game. Only loyal slaves don't see it that way.

With Burnout Revenge they also still said PS was their main platform.
But the XBOX 1 version looked better and sharper! So for comparing the two we'll just have to wait.

23.2 - The difference is Mart Xbox 1 was more powerful than PS2. Thats not true this time.

As for your precious lead, that you love to rub in our faces with your padded numbers, by the time this game is out it might not be so high.

Maybe thats why MGS4 and FFXIII are still exclusive. They're not worried about a larger userbase as they know their games are still so far away and are going to help to even that out in the next year or two along with Sony titles. When PS3 has 10 million sold and X360 has 15 million sold that lead isn't going to be that big a deal.

Besides, anyone who thinks a game can't sell with a small userbase tell that to Resistance. Or Halo for that matter. It was a launch game with not many Xboxes sold but I seem to remember it sold alright, didn't it? If anything a console with fewer great titles will sell lots of copies of a good game since people are starving for content. I was the same when X360 came out. I've got about 25 games for X360, about half of then are good. Why did I buy all the others? The machine was new, I had the great games already and I was just hungry for more content, so I bought alot of games I probably wouldn't have bothered with normally. Having so few great games at the beginning actually made me buy more of them. Weird huh?
