Nolan does the voice of Drake, has the face of Drake, and even does the motion capture for Drake. (as well as Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia)

He is the perfect Drake because Drake is him.

I have to agree. If Nolan North can perform as good as he does for games, then we would have a perfect VG movie transition.

I wish someone would start one of those petitions. Even if it doesn't affect the directors' choice, at least we'll know we tried.

I don't know what all this talk is about Drake HAS to be played by some huge name actor. That's simply not true. Many times, studios will take this opportunity to shoot a lesser known up to superstardom. They typically invest alot of money into production on a movie like this, so it can help to get a lesser/no name who you can pay very little, to help with offsetting the production costs (they do work on a budget here), yet still make it someone who has good acting ability. The less they spend on the talent, the more they can spend on the budget and the crew (like these producers and whoever they get to direct). And with Hollywood advertising a movie like this doesn't need a name to sell, it can sell on the glitz and glamor or the production and action sequences alone. Case in point, I bet most people in the world couldn't tell me who Tobey Maguire was pre-Spiderman. And can most people even tell me a Shia LaBeouf movie before Transformers? Anybody know Radcliffe as anything other than Harry Potter? (and that was a big budget film, of course you could argue that that's different since it was a kid character and not many big name kids), Lord of the Rings? Not really a big name in there. The point being, these type of movies (big budget/high production movies) don't need names, they can be carried plenty well enough by just the great trailers they can put out showing off the action and production.

Though it is funny to hear people talk about "No he won't work, they'll want a name for this movie", then turn around and suggest this Fillion guy. I'd never even heard of him before (though I do recognize his face now that I look at him), but I'd hardly call that guy a big name. That being said, seems like he'd make a good Drake. I do like the idea of Nolan playing Drake too, but I don't see that happening at all since the only "acting" he's done is voice-acting on video games. Josh Duhamel would be a decent choice I think. Matthew Fox looks the part, but I don't think he could off the personality. Now if he had the personality of say...Josh Hartnett or Shia LeBeouf(neither of which have the look), that could definitely fly I think. If Ryan Gosling put on a lil weight and had a lil bit of a makeover I think he could do well with this (then again maybe he has a bit too much of a "menacing" edge to him). I think Chris Evans could pull this role off pretty well. Somebody I think could very well do this part (if they could manage to get him to fit the look) John Cusack. He's a good actor and can really deliver that sarcasm (eh, come to think of it, his mannerisms just wouldn't work out). Hmm, you know who else could make a good Drake I think....Colin Farrell. I could kinda see that. I could almost see Dicaprio doing the role if he had the image. Brendan Fraser could definitely pull the role off but I wouldn't want to see him do it for the fact of him being in The Mummy, but he would be perfect for a role like this (as evidenced in The Mummy). One I wouldn't mind seeing doing it would be Sean Patrick Flanery (think Boondock Saints). I bet he could actually make a pretty good Drake with a bit of a makeover.

What are you talking about? Nathand Fillion already is in good shape, at least at the time Serenity came out in 2005. He would be perfect for Drake. This Joe Flanigan guy doesn't look that similar in my opinion and his personality in Stargate isn't that similar either. He just doesn't give me the same feeling as Nathan Drake, but Nathan Fillion does.

I have to agree. Look up Nolan's interview for Uncharted 2. He is funny, witty and charming exactly like Drake.

So what he is not the typical sculpted hero figure everyone is used to.

He is the everyman. With a little work he could get in shape and look 5 years younger. Perfect for Drake.

Nathan Fillion was always my choice. He's got that "every man" thing that Nathan Drake has. Having Nolan North would be good, but ultimately seems like fan service.

I think if they want it a little younger. Josh Duhamel would be great too. If you don't know, Josh played Lennox in Transformers.

I think if anyone has the potential to make the first great game-film adaptation, it has to be Sony, a lot of their games are almost to movie quality w/ their cinematic quality. It's no coincidence that Sony has their own film studio.

Just look at Shadow of the Colossus, another PS game being dev. into a movie. That game has a cult following w/ a lot of people in the film industry, it was featured in an Adam Sandler movie and Gullermo Del Toro is constantly praising it.

As far as actors for Nathan Drake go, I personally like Eric Bana. I don't think Drake has to resemble his videogame persona, I mean, he was always pretty generic, that's why they got one of the most popular voice actors working in videogames today to voice him.

I also like Jeremy Renner. He is not well heard of, but let me tell you, I thought the Hurt Locker was one of the best movies I've seen all summer. He plays a bomb defuser fighting in Iraq. I liked the way he kept his cool and came up with these breif moments of levity while he was defusing bombs in the middle of a warzone.
